one interesting thing...

the Astros and Orioles have zero playoff history...and basically zero rivalry and so forth

a series vs. Baltimore would be a chance to add another franchise / team to the victims list or haters list

It's funny, I think Chas is a good player and he's been valuable for Houston. But the front office probably looks at stuff like this and thinks "yeah we can afford to lose that"

Chas was pretty "lucky" at the beginning of the year. He came back and wasn't great. But over the last month he's been fire and it ain't luck.

CWS wouldn't trade Robert for just Chas and Meyers. Astros would have to throw in a top prospect arm and/or possibly Gilbert to get them to listen. 4.5 years of control is an enormous amount for a player like Robert. Personally, I would hold on that and focus on a SP (like Giolito) and medium impact LH bat (or RH with good splits vs RHers).

The question is what are you giving up for Giolito? This is shaping up like a great sellers market because so few teams are out of it and several of those have nothing but hot garbage to trade. It's very likely someone else can beat any offer we make for an impactful player. They've already said they won't trade Gilbert for a rental but that may very well be the cost.

I just wish they would be the trendsetter and not be forced to play the market set by someone else. Get it done early.

Is Premium restricted to Aggie sports only? If so I guess they have a point. Still, instead of weeping, wailing and gnashing one's of teeth to get the Astros thread off, why not just start one dedicated to the Rangers?

I don't know if Urquidy will come back and give more than Bielak or Blanco has offered, but just having him here to lengthen games or be a multi-inning reliever to take up some slack will be huge.

The D/FW sports fan only cares about relevancy. It's why you see the excessive hype about the Rangers having all-stars. It's also basically Jerry Jones' sports business model for the last few decades.

We need to get Altuve more games at DH while Yordan is out. He's the second most important bat on the team and we can't afford to have him dinged up. Also makes sense to work in Dubon some at 2B.
