anyone notice that "Cheo" has never posted here that I've noticed, only posted blatantly annoying, inflammatory jinx type material and then immediately disappeared when we still won.

That was definitely an arlingtonian sock, yet posts freely here with no repercussion

Lmao I'm not a sock. I've been an Astros fan since 2000 and have been to many games. I'm just a wacky dude, sorry?

One of my greatest memories was watching Roger Clemens come out in relief during the 2005 18 inning game against the Braves. Berkman clutch in the 8th with the grand slam then, out of all people, Ausmus tying it up with two outs in the 9th. Chris Burke!

Not all fans post everyday on Texags.

I used to have an Ag Tag, under Palooza11, created in 2007 when I was a freshman at A&M but got perma banned because I criticized Billy Luicci around 2011 or so

Speaking of the Angels… Trout just left the game during an at-bat due to hand injury. Have a feeling he'll be out awhile. He wasn't even hit.

That sounds like what happened to Correa in 2017, broke or tore something in his hand on a check swing

Was browsing baseball-reference and taking a peak at recent history with Colorado showed a matchup between Bielak and Freeland taking place in 2020, when Freeland had an ERA in the 2's.

Bielak outdueled Freeland as each went six innings. The only blemish on Bielak was a Trevor Story solo shot in the third. Carlos Correa provided all the offense the Astros needed in the first with a double scoring Gurriel and Bregman. The final was 2-1.

Bielak walked four and struck out four, allowing two stolen bases. Not a lot of action in the game, as after Story's homer the Rockies did not get their next hit until the ninth off of Blake Taylor.

Of note, Brooks Raley and Josh James picked up a hold, and Taylor picked up his only career save (yet). Dustin Garneau started at catcher, going 0-2 with a GIDP and sacrifice hit.

This was, to date, Bielak's highest game score (per BBref): 66 and he had 27 called strikes+whiffs, which he has only exceeded once, this year against Oakland when he struck out 9 in five innings.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/HOU/HOU202008170.shtml

Edit: I have to note the game time was 2:50 and I imagine it would be much closer to two hours flat if played this year.

I was thinking about this last night. Last year we were tight with Seattle and we went up there for a 3 game series and swept them, I believe, really put them in their place. Then went to Oakland and lost the next 3 and brought Seattle right back into it. I would hate to undo all that we accomplished this weekend by not playing well this week.

But coming out of the break didn't we lay down the law with the Yankees ? Don't recall exactly when that was

Yea first game out of the break was a double header at home against them. JJ walked off game 1 and then we crushed them in game 2, then got on a plane to Seattle to play the next night.

If the playoffs started today...

AL:
1. Tampa Bay (AL East)
2. Rangers (AL West)
3. Twins (AL Central)
4. Orioles (WC1)
5. Astros (WC2)
6. Yankees (WC3)

NL:
1. Atlanta (NL East)
2. Arizona (NL West)
3. Cincy (NL Central)
4. Miami (WC1)
5. Dodgers (WC2)
6. Brewers (WC3) (this is odd, they're tied with the Reds for 1st in the division and the Giants and Reds for last in the WC)

Astros would play the Orioles in Baltimore. I hope we do everything we can to avoid that scenario. The Orioles are a dangerous team that always seem to have the Astros number for whatever reason. They're like the Astros team from 2015.

Here's the remaining teams, and it's interesting to think about where the seller / buyers line is going to be at the deadline, seems like most of the selling (as of right now) is likely to happen on the NL side:

AL:
Toronto (2GB in WC, 11GB in division)
Angels (3GB in WC, 6GB in division)
Red Sox (4GB in WC, 13GB in division)
Mariners (5GB in WC, 8GB in division)
Guardians (5.5GB in WC, 1GB in division)
Tigers (9GB in WC, 4.5GB in division)
White Sox (10.5GB in WC, 6GB in division)
Royals (22GB in WC, 17.5GB in division)
A's (24.5GB in WC, 27.5GB in division)

NL:
Brewers (tied for last WC spot, tied for division lead)
Giants (tied for last WC spot, 4GB in division)
Phillies (1GB in WC, 12.5GB in division)
Pirates (6.5GB in WC, 6.5GB in division)
Padres (7GB in WC, 11GB in division)
Cubs (7GB in WC, 7GB in division)
Mets (7.5GB in WC, 19GB in division)
Cardinals (10.5GB in WC, 10.5GB in division)
Nationals (11.5GB in WC, 23GB in division)
Rockies (13.5GB in WC, 17.5GB in division)

To add. Here are the updated win the division odds. Look like a recent event happened to really narrow things.

Here are the teams with the lowest playoff odds. Idk where you draw the line for selling. 30%? 20%? 15%?

Talking to a buddy, my thought was move Myers for a decent RP..he threw out if the White Sox keep sliding, would you pair Meyers and Chas, for Luis Robert?

I'm not sure I'd be on board with that, Chas is playing really well, but LuBob is pretty damn special

Absolutely you do that everyday. But why would the white sox want that? 2 lesser OFs with similar control.

Speaking of the Whitesox tho I think Giolitto is our best option for deadline SP target.

Luis Robert is a 4 bWAR on July 4th with 4.5(?) more years of control.

almost like the position is reverting back to good-field-no-hit
