The only gripes about Abreu were 1. why the 3rd year 2. it feels very unAstros. The majority (including myself) loved the deal. But the fanbase shouldn't be held to the standard of the general manager or acting general manager.

We've had a lot of great ideas about platoons over the past three years. Dusty hasn't actually executed a single one of them.SpaceCityAg05 said:
Bellinger (history aside) would be a nice add due to his punishment of righties and his OF/1B flexibility.
I can't help but think we need to take advantage of Chas's plus glove and absolute destruction of LHP to pair him with a LH LF bat. Now that he is in the last year of his deal, what about Charlie Blackmon, who still punishes RHP? It seems like he could form a nice LF platoon with Chas if CF is handed to Jake.
Blackmon is a Coors Field special I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.SpaceCityAg05 said:

He was on a 3 year $50 million deal. So we paid him more for the same timeframe for worse results?Farmer1906 said:redline248 said:What do you mean? From Chicago?Farmer1906 said:

Agreed. Just went back and read them.texasaggie2015 said:
Not sure if you saw our posts yesterday, but Farmer and I posted comparisons to Chas facing lefties vs. Mike Piazza and Juan Gonzalez facing lefties and righties.
When facing lefties, Chas' career numbers are very similar to Piazza's career numbers against everyone and slightly better than Juan Gonzalez.
It's absolutely inexcusable that Chas ever sits against a lefty.

Lance McCullers Jr. will undergo an MRI tomorrow after suffering a setback, Astros general manager Dana Brown said. A decision on his future will come after that, early next week.

Who returns and pitches for the Astros first? Lance or Whitley?
The Astros will be in the starting pitching market around the trade deadline, but Dana Brown sure made it sound today as if a bat is a bigger priority.
