Yup. He should at very minimum be in the lineup EVERY time we face a lefty.

I have no issue at all with Julks aside from thinking he has a low ceiling, and in fact as a hometown dude I want him to thrive with the Stros. But. I am confused what led Dusty to decide he is an actual every day player while Chas just sits there.

Dusty will give him a nice reward of the bench tomorrow
Just looked it up. Chas has a career .921 OPS against lefties.texasaggie2015 said:

It's a crime when he doesn't start against LHP.texasaggie2015 said:Just looked it up. Chas has a career .921 OPS against lefties.texasaggie2015 said:

I'm with you. If I was Chas' agent, I'd consider conversations about possible trades. I think he can hit 25+ Hrs with regular playing time while providing above average defense.Farmer1906 said:
Chas gets his 2nd day off in a row & 3rd day off in the last 6 days. If I were him, I'd want to be traded. There have been 33 CFers to accumulate 800+ PA over the last 3 seasons. I use CF loosely to include guys like Judge, Marte, etc. Chas ranks 13th in wRC+ @ 112. He's ahead of guys like Daulton Varsho, Harrison Bader, Mike Yastrzyemski, Adam Duvall, & Adolis Garcia. He's not too far off from Ketel Marte & Cedric Mullins. Yet we treat him as some fringe player who has to prove he's worth getting regular starts.

You could make the argument that Abreu has been just as bad a hitter as Manoah as a pitcher in terms of expected results. Yes, I know the $60M argument but just interesting to me.agproducer said:

It's more like the Spring Training Complex to work on his issues.agproducer said:

Just a friendly reminder that James Click acquired Phil Maton and Yainer Diaz for Myles Straw.

I don't disagree Diaz should play way more but to anoint him a "pretty impressive offensive catcher" after 82 career ABs is premature. Besides, you need two catchers the way things are headed Diaz should get plenty of PT at 1B even if we acquire another one.Ag_07 said:MaxPower said:
#1 targets for me are Sal Perez and Realmuto
Why?
Both good players, but we have a pretty impressive offensive catcher sitting on the bench every day and he is playing for the league minimum and won't cost prospects in a trade.
We just need our manager to play him. Which as we've seen he's been reluctant to do when adding veteran catchers at the deadline.

Jacob deGrom will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament. Story forthcoming

Never say never, we were able to overcome JV getting TJ and still make the World Series. If they continue to have career years like they have been anything is possible. Really sucks for DeGrom.Harry Dunne said:Sad to hear this. This Rangers squad with a healthy DeGrom could win 100 games.

BTW on Verdugo, he's having a career year but look at his splits away from Fenway. Think he's more of the barely above average hitter he has been in prior years. We have several guys of similar skillset. Think you only make a move for an OF if it's a true impact guy.

he's making $30 MM this year...and set for $40 MM next year...
no telling when he'll be ready to pitch in 2024
Mmmm.... have they tho?agproducer said:
I'm not going to celebrate the Rangers misfortune. The team is having a historical year, and most of the Ags on the other thread have stuck with them through all the recent terrible seasons.
