Probably not but I think he was out.

Kalas just said 5-1 and obviously it's 5-2 and he flubbed the score earlier the game when we were up 5-0 and he said 5-1.

I don't know what it means but just bugs me.

Making their bullpen look all-world. Ok Pressley, please no drama and let's get the W.

No matter how old you get that will always be a nice ass.

Glad to get the W. HB looked great too.

Is it safe to say Pressly is the best reliever in Astros history?

He's just so consistently good and has been ever since he came here

Makes it look so effortless when he's on. So glad we have him.

But better than Billy Wagner?

Maybe I was too young at the time and I'm not remembering things correctly but I thought Wagner got shelled whenever it came playoff time

Pressly has very rare bad outings and generally when he comes in it's pretty much a lock

Wagner's stats look better for much longer.

I know at one time our proverbial 7,8,9 was Wags, Lidge, and Dotel. Really solid way to end games.

But yeah, Pressley has been mostly phenomenal since donning the Blue and Orange. His 40 scoreless inning streak over the 18 and 19 seasons was incredible.

Damn Wagner was a beast. His only plus 3 ERA season was 2000 when he was injured.

Posted a 1.52 his final season. You don't see that kind of consistency out of closers not named Rivera very often.

It's an absolute travesty that Wags isn't in the hall.

Dude was an absolute beast.

Pressly while great isn't Billy Wagner great.

How was his playoff performance?

Wagner could be like James Harden in the playoffs and it wouldn't change the fact that he was the better player as their careers stand now.

There'd just be the same caveat that our two HOFs also carry.

FWIW...I'm convinced Wagner isn't in the HOF because of Mariano Rivera.

He was so dominant and given the media platform that not many can name another closer during that time period.

I noticed Odor's dumbass was the first out of the dugout to celebrate.

He's got a little work to do to get to zero.

I'm concerned about the Astros offense. They stink two months in. Once again pitching is keeping them in it.

I think he will get in

We've still got AAAA players at 3 positions, Abreu and usually Maldonado. Toss in Bregman and his sub 700 OPS and it's a wonder we are doing as well as he is.

Big props to Meyers who is included in those AAAA players but is actually putting out

Fewest runs per game since 2015. It's getting time to accept what they are instead of what they were expected to be. Brantley is not coming back, either, so this is what you have.

After watching Sugar Land this week, there's no help coming from there this season.

Good news is the Astros have very good pitching and that plays in the postseason.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Yeah, I can't help but feel that the window is closing and will soon be closed. The pipeline is fairly empty, and we have some albatross contracts (Abreu/Montero/McCullers at 34 million) that will prohibit us from getting any big talent while we still have Framber and Tucker.

But there are some bright spots: Alvarez and Javier contracts are great, Hunter Brown looks like an ace, and Julks and Meyers look like future contributors.

Remember in 2020 Garcia can up from single A. I'm open to either bringing up Dezenzo to play 1B or Gilbert and having Tucker work a few games at 1B a week. Probably makes sense to let those guys have regular ABs through June and reassess at some point in July.

A real frustration I have with the org is how we have moved away from position flexibility. In 2017 we had guys who could play all over to try to work matchups. Now we have 8 guys who just play their spots and then a traditional utility IF and 4th OF. That's something we need to bring back in the future.
MaxPower

No one of those three contracts is an albatross but the combination is awful. Abreu also sends the wrong message to Tucker. We won't give him 10 years but will throw 3 years down the drain on a 36 year old that isn't even "your" guy. It's hard to argue your fiscal responsibilities in that situation.

I don't think that's an organizational change. That's 100% on Dusty. Diaz, for example, played some 1B in AAA. We have no "true" back up 1B on the roster. Dana put 3 catchers on the roster, which means he (the organization) intended for Diaz to get some games at 1B. He's played 1 game at 1st.
