The point I made is pretty simple: Getting moved down in the order isn't a death knell for a struggling star player. He got moved down in the order and found his mojo pretty quickly. He rebounded and had an all-star season.

When Correa got moved down to 7th (for a day. Mostly 6th if you have a hard time understanding the point otherwise), he was hitting .269 with a .769 OPS.

That is a silly comparison. 25-year-old Acuna has played in almost 100 more games than Justin Verlander. If you say Abreu, it means he gets going and smack a dozen or so. Unless it means McCullers has another setback and is done.
If you say McCullers then it means Abreu is maxing out at single digits, but you likely have your boy back in the rotation.
Lance's first start last year was August 13th and he finished with 8 regular season starts...
