I know the bar is low, but Diaz's 107.4 EV is harder than every ball put in play by Maldonado except for 3 from 2020-2023.Farmer1906 said:Yainer Díaz is also starting to pick it up offensively. He struck a 107.4 mph single and a 98.2 mph double in his last two plate appearances today, after starting the season 0-for-10. https://t.co/kOmgyipiZC

With the Tucker incident today, I can't believe no one has brought up the move that d-bag Grandal pulled in the ALDS

Such a chicken**** move, and just a God awful call.
I wish we would do this. I know I'm an olds but getting home around 1030 or 11 isn't as appealing as it used to be.spadilly said:
Remember, early games this week. 5:35 tonight and tomorrow and then 11:35 Wednesday.
Apparently the Pirates start evening home games half an hour earlier before Memorial Day and after Labor Day to help accommodate families and school nights.
Pitch clock didn't help?MaxPower said:I wish we would do this. I know I'm an olds but getting home around 1030 or 11 isn't as appealing as it used to be.spadilly said:

I think they're doing it so they don't have to use the lights at the stadium as much save $500 a game.spadilly said:

I hope this will work itself out organically with Yainer's bat becoming too valuable to bench. Maldy is proud and talks a big game, but I suspect that he will be the consummate pro about it.Farmer1906 said:I know the bar is low, but Diaz's 107.4 EV is harder than every ball put in play by Maldonado except for 3 from 2020-2023.Farmer1906 said:Yainer Díaz is also starting to pick it up offensively. Somewhat true. Some guys will consistently over or under perform due to tendencies. Bregman usually is on the favorable side because he can abuse the Crawford boxes. Yuli was another one who was usually better than expected because he used the whole field.Frok said:
I'd be curious to see a hitter's spread in comparison to that. Possibly one reason certain hitters are "unlucky" could be that they hit the ball consistently to one part of the field so teams are ready for it.
Maybe, maybe not. Overall, we're slightly favorable (lucky?) as a team hitting. Pitching on the other hand has been unfavorable (unlucky)Quote:
wow, a full 250 points of bad luck for Bregs is pretty painful. Figure we'd have at least a few more w's if that normalized

of course one solution to this...drive the ball over the outfielders' heads and/or the fence

Beautiful view. One of my cousins used to live really close to there, but the jerk moved to Charlotte, NC before I had a chance to visit.Farmer1906 said:
