I think the issue is he starts in foul territory and then crosses onto the inside part of the line. If he doesn't cross the line, but at most stays on it and hits the outside part of the bag, I would think it was no problem.

yeah I've never really understood how you're all the sudden supposed to matrix onto the bag (which is fully in fair territory) while running in foul territory.

You're not supposed to. The last step is when you can cross over. It sucks to get that call against you, but that was exactly the situation the rule was written for.

The same play went in the Astros favor with Tre Turner baserunning in the WS vs Washington.

I mean, there is an outside part of the bag that is on the line, and if you go to the outside part of the bag if you establish your line in foul territory, you would be fine.

Tucker crossed over from foul territory into fair territory. He didn't even ride the line.

Yes, according to the rulebook.

ETA- as long as you stayed in the running lane up until that last step. Of note, the entirety of the foul line is part of the running lane

4-6 seems a whole lot better than 3-7. Consider the injuries, the horrible start by Bregman, some really bad calls, the record-setting strikeout rate, and unreal gems by Cease and Gray… it could be worse. At least, that's my story for now.

one thing for Pena...when he connects...it is usually for power. He has 5 x-base hits.

Bregman...still zero x-base hits in 40 at-bats. Digging a size-able hole in the slugging % category

Angels lose an early candidate for GOTY, 12-11 to Toronto, wherein they blow an early 6-0 lead, go down 10-6, come back in the ninth to tie, give up a couple in extras, then end the game as Ohtani grounds out with the bases loaded.

With Seattle losing in extras too, Astros stay in third, 1.5 games back.

Is it just me or is he choking up on the bat more than normal? I know he always has choked up and especially with 2 strikes but this year it seems it's even more pronounced than usual.
