Apparently the Pirates start evening home games half an hour earlier before Memorial Day and after Labor Day to help accommodate families and school nights.

I wish we would do this. I know I'm an olds but getting home around 1030 or 11 isn't as appealing as it used to be.

I think they're doing it so they don't have to use the lights at the stadium as much save $500 a game.

I hope this will work itself out organically with Yainer's bat becoming too valuable to bench. Maldy is proud and talks a big game, but I suspect that he will be the consummate pro about it.

I'd be curious to see a hitter's spread in comparison to that. Possibly one reason certain hitters are "unlucky" could be that they hit the ball consistently to one part of the field so teams are ready for it.

Somewhat true. Some guys will consistently over or under perform due to tendencies. Bregman usually is on the favorable side because he can abuse the Crawford boxes. Yuli was another one who was usually better than expected because he used the whole field.

Maybe, maybe not. Overall, we're slightly favorable (lucky?) as a team hitting. Pitching on the other hand has been unfavorable (unlucky)

Agreed. I find it hard to pick between PNC and Oracle Park in San Fran. Both have just stunning views from the entire park.
