That's a good question but considering that Abreu's power drought is going on about three months now it would be tempting to bet on Mancini. Hope that's wrong.


Mancini but only because he's playing elsewhere. I just don't think he got comfortable here or maybe playing for the contract made him press too much.

Do we know what was wrong with Urquidy? I hate to say this but if any of the starting pitchers got some extended time off I am glad it was him. I hope he makes a full recovery and gets back 100% healthy. This should move Louace and Brown up in the rotation

Remember when we thought Whitley might have turned the corner? He's had 3 bad outings in a row. Assuming Urquidy needs to go on the IL, Who do we bring up Bielak, Dubin, France, or Whitley? France has been the best this year. Or do try to stretch out Blanco then bring up another reliever like Gage, Taylor, or Paredes?

Vs. Chicago Cubs
Vs. Oakland

It'd be nice to go 2-outta-3 for that 18 game period, maybe that'd even be slightly disappointing. Brantley/McCormick coming back soon and we should have a firmer timeline on Altuve by the end of this stretch. Will be interesting to see how they handle Urquidy/his rotation spot.

So looking back the good guys went 8-4 over that 12 game stretch against TOR, ATL, TB, and PHI.

I'll take that any day of the week.

And it allows us to continue treading water until we're at full strength, which has always been the realistic goal with the bulk of our leaders out of commission.

We need to continue to tread water and not go on any prolonged losing streaks. We do that and make it to June we should finally see what this team is capable of doing at full strength.

Exactly. I think of it this way...

We're treading water at/above .500 until we get to full strength. We've yet to field our full lineup or play our best baseball.

The division leader is already playing their best baseball and is aiming to keep their current pace.

We'll be just fine.

Spent the weekend away from the board. About to catch up. Surely nobody questioned why Maldy continues to start 80% of the games, Abreu's ability to hit a baseball, or Dusty Baker's competency as a manager. I'm expecting nothing but cool, calm, rational baseball talk. Let's see.
