That's the beauty of JV, and to a degree Framber. You know that if the offense is rough they have the ability to be a stone wall.
Same for Javier. He's shown flashes of his 2022 self.

Framber was not at his best last night. It was pretty clear that he got rattled real quick in the 1st inning.
I thought it was a good job by Maldy & Josh Miller to get Framber back on track and to get more innings out of him.

I see it both ways. That guy has a 1.18 ERA and is a few games away from getting generational changing money. His team blew it already. Why put yourself in a situation you're not comfortable with in a meaningless game?

He's paid to pitch when they tell him to pitch. It tells you a lot about a person when they duck responsibilities like that. The competitive spirit in most major leaguers wouldn't do what he did.
