If you guys have been looking at Verlander's FIP and WHIP he was due for one of these. He's been courting trouble the last few times
you are correct, he did hit 3 and threw 98 pitchesMisterFurious said:The Beef01 said:MisterFurious said:Mathguy64 said:
Just not sharp tonight.
Two starts in a row where he's been rough
Yeah, his 2 H 0 ER line on Sunday was very concerning.
I thought he hit 3 dudes and walked 2 more. Didn't make it out of the 5th.

Pick him up. Let's go boys.
Not sure dominant Verlander is still a possibility...he is going to have to become more crafty...but he throws right-handed, so he can't be crafty. Ever hear of the right-handed equivalent???Dies Irae said:AlwaysNextYear89 said:you are correct, he did hit 3 and threw 98 pitchesMisterFurious said:The Beef01 said:MisterFurious said:Mathguy64 said:

He has tap danced out of some danger the last few outings. In his last 3 he has an ERA of 2.25 but is giving up 1.4 walks+hits per inning

Was pretty close to dominant against the Red Sox, but an error in the 6th, and having to throw extra pitches, I think, cost him a chance to go for 7 IPAlwaysNextYear89 said:Not sure dominant Verlander is still a possibility...he is going to have to become more crafty...but he throws right-handed, so he can't be crafty. Never heard him referred to as crafty...it's an adjective reserved for southpaws as far back as I can remember. Maddux already has something named for him...complete game under 100 pitches is referred to as a Maddux nowThe Beef01 said:AlwaysNextYear89 said:Not sure dominant Verlander is still a possibility...he is going to have to become more crafty...but he throws right-handed, so he can't be crafty. Does Greg Maddux know that??

Which, if the rest of the rotation is on point is all you really need from him at this point in his careerDies Irae said:AlwaysNextYear89 said:Not sure dominant Verlander is still a possibility...he is going to have to become more crafty...but he throws right-handed, so he can't be crafty. I don't think dominant Verlander is likely but luckily with the money we saved on him still think we got a great deal on "all-star caliber" Verlander.

Because they don't allow a beard.
