It's expensive being this good.

I understand money usually trumps everything but unless you're just a reptile like Pay-Rod I can't believe a few extra million is worth not having the kind of experience the Astros just had over the last month.chlavinka said:
He said he wanted to come back and would take less money. He's from Dallas and apparently also likes to win …

If JV would do it, would you sign him for 2 year/$80M? I would.

Astros did a deal with Bregman to buy out all 3 years of arbitration. No reason we can't do that with Tucker.

Bringing back JV only makes sense if you don't like the bat free agent market and feel your best option to get upgrades at 1B, OF or C is to make a trade. Once you resign JV then you have 7 starters including Brown. You could trade one of the younger guys for a bat and still have 6.

We gave up a total of 3 runs over the last 3 games to the hottest hitting team in the playoffs including a no no. Unbelievable.

Do you have link to that? Had not heard that
Was it a disagreement on amount or "I'm not doing a deal"?
My guess is Tucker and his agent have no intentions of doing a deal until they see results without the shift. That could increase his numbers and his value a solid 5-10%BMX Bandit said:

X-rays confirmed Astros 3B Alex Bregman broke his left index finger sliding into second base in the 8th inning of Game 6 of the World Series last night. He won’t need surgery, but faces an eight-week recovery. He’ll be ready for Spring Training 2023.

True, but even with that, it's less than $30mm over next three years. Astros should offer 6/115 they gave Yordan.

“It was best-case scenario,” said Bregman, who slashed .294/.379/.569 in 11 postseason games with three homers and 11 RBIs. “I look forward to training hard this offseason and getting back to Spring Training ready to roll.” https://t.co/NSrfQRhjMD
