No but it is annoying as hell.

It's a drizzle. Play the game. It's the least you can do if you're not requiring new parks to have retractable roofs.
I said this same thing back when the delay happened against the Yankees. I'm also of the firm stance than any new stadium not built on the California coast needs to have a retractable roof. No one should be forced to play baseball in early April weather in places like Minneapolis, Boston, Denver, etc., and that need only grows when it gets to be late October or early November with how volatile cold fronts in those places are.
None of these areas are likely to get a new ballpark anytime soon, well maybe the ChiSox and I know there is discussion of replacing Kaufman Stadium (boo!). Of course I didn't think the Rangers or Braves needed new parks so who knows.

Simple question, who is mandate this rule? I would think owners would have to vote on it and I'm not sure that the votes are there. There has been a number of new parks built since the Orioles debut Camden Yards in 1990 and only two clubs where weather might be a chilly in April or Oct/Nov changed their roof status; Twins ditched the roof, Brewers added one. I have plenty family in Wisconsin and the most ardent Brewers fans among them while appreciative of the modern amenities the newer park really miss the openness of the old County Stadium.

If you have a playoff game rained out in your home stadium you should have to forfeit the game. Stop being so poor and put a roof on your stadium.
Most teams have open aired stadiums, do you really think you're going to get them to vote for such a rule?

Look what tennis has done. They have roofs on all of the main courts at each of the four major tournaments. Weather delays created too many headaches. But it is easier to put a roof on a tennis stadium than a baseball stadium.

lol MLB having a World Series Game 7 go up against a Chiefs Sunday Night Football game and get trounced in the ratings would be embarrassing
WS game 7 would smoke KC/Tennessee in the ratings.
Maybe 25 to 30 years ago. This day and age, too many would rather watch bad football.

I can admit when I am wrong. I said Hensley would not see a start at DH this World Series, and I am wrong.

I want the kid to come through tonight.

Do you really want them to replace or even put a roof on Fenway Park or Wrigley Field?

MLB is so fckn dumb. Nothing will change between now and then.

It's like they're so afraid to step up and make a decision. It's comical how reactive they are to these things.

So all the fans will either be at the park or close to it by the time the MLB makes a decision. Manfred does not give two ****s about the fans.

After this year's playoff debacle with the weather, Jim Crane going forward should ignore Manfred if he tells him to open the roof. Take the fine and give him a huge middle finger.

Would likely be cheaper to build a whole new stadium than put a roof on the really old stadiums. But tennis had one installed at Wimbledon and that's as old and traditional as they come. Fact is we will just to have to live with this kinda stuff and deal with it the way we are. Won't change until it really becomes burdensome.

I think a large, temporary, EZ-UP pop-up tent would be a good compromise here.

Didn't they play game 5 against San Diego in the rain? Shouldn't be any different in this case! It's not expected to be severe weather! Just play the game!

To be fair, I live in SoCal and that night it was literally 20 minutes of rain and it was 50/50 if it was gonna rain ... there is a difference

I'd love to see them try to get the game in tonight
