Not disclose it to who? Other teams? The media? I get the media but surely other teams would be told.
Considering they disclose every other injury or reason for IL stints, it should be easy to figure when a player is on the COVID IL. if no reason is given then I'll just assume they got it.

After finishing the season on Nov 1, Oct 18, & Oct 30 the last 3 years, this extended break may be a nice shot in the arm. Plus Verlander and Greinke up there in age. 10-12 starts usually mean its June, not the postseason.
I thought the minors were cancelled already. Am I missing something?

I could see it, if for no other reason than he's Greinke.
I have faith in Greinke. He may be an introvert and pretty weird, but he's a competitor too and he doesn't have a ring yet. This is his best shot.

I don't want to have to be the Rangers and try to win games 8-7.
The weakest part of the team is SP. The bats are the best in the league and have proven it. The pen is in great shape so long as the Lizard doesn't kill them. The rotation is thin. We need at least one young arm to step up. Losing Greinke would mean you need 2. That's a big ask and it evens the playing field.

I think I read an interview with Strom and he said something about how long grienke told him he needed to be ready, so I assume he'll pitch.
Grienke would also be walking away from about $10 MM.
