Anything is possible, but to actually predict that reeks of homerism. Momentum in baseball really isn't a thing, and if it was, how could you predict anything other than an Astros win tonight?

Plus, Correa's defense has been excellent, adding to his case.

I am not going to sit here and argue about it because it doesnt feel right to argue for that possibility.

but it is way closer to reasonable than it is impossible. Finishing series' is hard. The yankees are really good.

The Yankees just look distraught, dejected, checked out, lost.

Looks to me like they have no game plan. No real sense of identity. They're in a constant state of panic.

Their fans are out of it and have never been a factor.

They thought they would win this series just because they were a better team. Now we have them on their heels and they have no answers.

Springer only has two hits this series; a game tying solo home run in game two and a go ahead three-run shot in game four.

Correa has three; a go ahead run scoring double in game two, a walk off home run in game two, and a tack on three-run bomb in game four.

The hits have been few, but the magnitude huge. Both of those guys have to be in the MVP discussion right now, because we'd be down 1-3 without them. Has anyone ever hit below .200 in a series and won MVP (not including pitchers, obviously)?

If Correa goes 1-4 tonight with another big go ahead or game clinching run-scoring hit, he will have only hit .190 for the series, but how could you not give him MVP?

What are altuves stats?

I thought they had a great game plan early with laying off pictures that were close and making Grienke work.

It seem like once Springer hits a homerun, They completely change their strategy.

Heard one Commentator say they were completely shellshocked and collapsed

I have to go on a Cub Scout campout. It was bad enough having to miss one potential game on Saturday night, but now I have to miss game 5 too. I do have my shortwave radio with extra batteries packed and I'm sure I won't be the only one who wants to follow the game.

Astros are underdogs tonight. Yankees are -130

It's a good thing the oddsmakers don't actually determine the outcome, then!

If JV pitches a great game, he probably gets it...Altuve could also get it with a big game.

Correa could get it but would have to do better than 1-4. I just don't think they will give the ALCS MVP to a guy with 4 hits in a 5 game series and a .190 OBP.

National radio is fantastic this morning. Yankee fans are more worried about a whistle than that their stars can't get a clutch hit.

Some random thoughts......

The Yankees are not a mentally tough team. When they got down last night they seemed to lose a lot of focus. Four errors in a playoff game?

This Astros team is fun to watch how much they have matured since 2015 playoffs when most of the nucleus was so young. In 2017 having Beltran to provide veteran leadership from the bench was huge and trading for Verlander at the trade deadline was huge not just for his pitching but the leadership and confidence he brought to a young team with little playoff experience.

In 17 they were tested by a very good Dodgers team and came through repeatedly in the clutch. This year against TB and this series with the Yankees you can just feel that someone is going to come through when needed. Starting pitching is the key to the playoffs along with clutch hitting (see 1990s Astros) and we are getting that right now. You need a decent bullpen and for this series that has been really good. I have a lot of faith in Will Harris right now. Hinch was questioned a lot on this board in 17 and for some good reasons but overall he did a great job. His decisions now seem to almost always work out. He has really grown as a manager.

All that said, the Yankees have the big bats to make this series interesting again. As much as I am a fan of JV, he is susceptible to giving up some HRs so tonight is not the lock so many think it is, but I'll bet on him coming through every time.

I sure would like to wrap it up tonight but if not, MMP would be a LOT of fun Saturday night.

Are we stealing the hitters signs to now so they don't know what to swing at or are they tipping their swing angles so we know what to pitch?

Gotta give Hinch major credit. He is sticking to his strategy even when the going gets rough. Last night James came in, walked a guy and then gave up a bomb. He leaves him in to recover and get the next three outs. Now James leaves that outing with confidence despite giving up the bomb.

It seems they think we are tipping location more than pitches. Sanchez was moving around a lot last night with 2 strikes trying to fake a location. That doesn't help the pitcher at all, so good for us if we are doing it or not. It's working.

I can't stop laughing. Steve Phillips on MLB Radio just proclaimed that the Yankees will win tonight, win the pen game in game 6 and take the momentum and beat Cole in 7. Poor Eduardo Perez is choking on air.

Did Steve pick us to win last night or us to be up 3-1 now? If he did I'll give him props but I seriously doubt it.

Correa and Springer have 5 hits total this series. 4 are homers.

    That is amazing.

I would think a lot of that is attributed to Sanchez being not so good at his job when he plays us
