The science is fairly settled on this. The more we talk about the rain out Wednesday, the less likely it is to happen

They are changing it next year to where you have to face at least 3 batters

It would have sucked so bad to be this tired and we lost last night.

Lineup wise I'd just swap Correa and Yuli.

With Correa's walkoff fresh on their minds he could provide some protection for Yordan. May even get them to throw Yordan a FB or make a mistake.

Seems like a decent chance the game gets played based on this weather report.

at a bare minimum bad weather would take a lot of atmosphere out of that stadium.

Do you know what's weird? I've been real nervous on some of the Astros games this last week. I could barely watch the one Thursday so I didn't flip in until it got to the eighth-inning and right when I did they got two homeruns. Same thing happened tonight I flipped over In the middle of the top of the 11th to see what would happen and then we get a homerun

Maybe I should just start flipping over when I think we need a homerun.

Both nights I was keeping up with the score on the ESPN play by play on my phone I was just too nervous to watch.
Annie88 - I got so tense in the eleventh, I had to take our dog and go walk in the street in front of our house. My daughter came running out of our house yelling we won.

Then I couldn't go to sleep for over an hour. Then I woke up wide awake at 6:15. It's really silly for a 77 year-Old to get this wrapped up in it, but I am. I never dreamed the Astros could put together a team a team of this quality.

I don't know why some complain about this so much.

I want the best chance to win, and if that means playing a match up, I want it.

Also, if they had that rule, you're not likely seeing Happ in this game and who know what happens.

We got rewarded for Boone's overmanaging last night by getting to face Happ.

Why would you want to take any of that away?

Yes, it absolutely helped us last night. That being said, there were a few innings that were just downright painful to watch.

how?? it literally takes out our only start from an unknown and replaces an Urquidy start in NY with a Verlander start. And probably saves our pen a lot too.
They just used every bullpen arm they pretty much had.

Severino has got a grand total of 16 innings (regular and postseason) this year. He's throw 67, 72, 80, and 83 pitches. If we work a few counts then we'll get to their bullpen again before the 6th, maybe before the 5th.

Then they're going to be forced to start a guy like Happ and basically have a bullpen game like us. The difference is this will be the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time they're using / we are seeing these guys.

Ideally, Cole goes deep game 3 and we are much more rested because our starters go deeper into games.

Hinch managed last night perfectly. I think Boone made good decisions for a game situation but he sacrificed some longevity in the series.

Also, unsung hero was Diaz working the Chapman count hard and wearing him out.

On what ****ing planet should a league championship game be Played during the work day??
to be fair, i think last night's game should have started at least 2 hours earlier.

That's weekend games. Those can start whenever the hell they want. Noon, 2 pm, 5 pm, etc. IDGAF about those

It's the weekday afternoon games that don't make any sense to me.

And I'm guessing it started at 7 pm so as not to compete with NFL football.

That was one of the best at-bats of the night IMO.

Gotta love Collin McHugh

Dude has had a very underwhelming contract season where he lost his rotation spot, couldn't hack it as a BP arm, then went down with an injury. Hasn't really contributed much at all.

He was one of the first ones out of the dugout and is right there celebrating with the team.

Hope it all works for McHugh here or elsewhere.

Was such an awesome game to be at! Had an amazing time! I'm just shocked at how many people left early last night ... by the time the walkoff happened there were maybe 33k in the crowd

games with staggered start times gets you more total viewers.

and do you really not see why a network would want a window of time in which its the only MLB game on TV?

Yep! Truly celebrating others success is a big part of this teams secret. Don't think the guy standing behind Tucker realizes that yet.

That whole bottom 9th was filled with great ABs. They didn't look scared of Chapman at all.

One of the best parts about last night was when the two cocky Yankees fans sitting by me were totally silenced and did the surrender cobras after the homerun
