The science is fairly settled on this. The more we talk about the rain out Wednesday, the less likely it is to happen

I know there's not, but I wish there was a way to limit pitching changes. For large parts the game was painfully slow.

Who's going to NYC?
I will be there with my uncle and some of his buddies

It would have sucked so bad to be this tired and we lost last night.
Annie88 - I got so tense in the eleventh, I had to take our dog and go walk in the street in front of our house. My daughter came running out of our house yelling we won.annie88 said:
Do you know what's weird? I've been real nervous on some of the Astros games this last week. I could barely watch the one Thursday so I didn't flip in until it got to the eighth-inning and right when I did they got two homeruns. Same thing happened tonight I flipped over In the middle of the top of the 11th to see what would happen and then we get a homerun
Maybe I should just start flipping over when I think we need a homerun.
Both nights I was keeping up with the score on the ESPN play by play on my phone I was just too nervous to watch.

Yes, it absolutely helped us last night. That being said, there were a few innings that were just downright painful to watch.Beat40 said:n_touch said:They are changing it next year to where you have to face at least 3 battersTexas A&M said:

I don't know why some complain about this so much.
I want the best chance to win, and if that means playing a match up, I want it.
Also, if they had that rule, you're not likely seeing Happ in this game and who know what happens.
We got rewarded for Boone's overmanaging last night by getting to face Happ.
Why would you want to take any of that away?

They just used every bullpen arm they pretty much had.gigemJTH12 said:
how?? it literally takes out our only start from an unknown and replaces an Urquidy start in NY with a Verlander start. And probably saves our pen a lot too.

Hinch managed last night perfectly. I think Boone made good decisions for a game situation but he sacrificed some longevity in the series.
Also, unsung hero was Diaz working the Chapman count hard and wearing him out.
games with staggered start times gets you more total viewers.Ag_07 said:
That's weekend games. Those can start whenever the hell they want. Noon, 2 pm, 5 pm, etc. IDGAF about those
It's the weekday afternoon games that don't make any sense to me.
And I'm guessing it started at 7 pm so as not to compete with NFL football.

Gotta love Collin McHugh
Dude has had a very underwhelming contract season where he lost his rotation spot, couldn't hack it as a BP arm, then went down with an injury. Hasn't really contributed much at all.
He was one of the first ones out of the dugout and is right there celebrating with the team.
Hope it all works for McHugh here or elsewhere.

That was one of the best at-bats of the night IMO.
