This brings up an interesting question too. All hypothetical of course, but say Yordan is killing it in the first two series of the postseason. Would Hinch consider playing him on the road in the WS in left field? Or is he strictly a pinch hitter?

My first thought is you do whatever you need to do to get his bat in the lineup.

Then I think about how. Does he play LF and Brantley sits out? Does he play 1B (which he's never done), Yuli play 3B, Bregs play SS?

Maybe he doesn't play him, but you don't want to play the first 2 one the road without Yordan.

Yordan in left

But if Carlos is still hurt then it's a problem because one of Brantley or yordan needs to play first to get them both in the lineup with yuli at 3rd and bregs at ss

But I would only trot that lineup out with verlander and Cole pitching, contact like Miley and grienke would be a disaster for defensive outfield like that

1 - AL home field (Astros win or Yankees loss)
2 - WS home field (Astros wins or Dodgers losses)
Maybe I missed it. What is the tie breaker if Stros and Dodgers end up with identical records?

How many runners got to third base last night with less than 2 outs? How many scored?

The bunt a runner over only guarantees an out. Not to mention all the other negative outcomes, like bunt a pop up that fails to advance, or bunt it too hard to the pitcher that gets the lead runner.

I agree, I know I'm not qualified to criticize his game decisions. But can someone explain this - twice Toro came up with runners on first and second with no outs. Both times he swung away and both times hit into taylor made double plays (the Angels muffed the second one). Why didn't he bunt to get a guy to third with one out? I know what analytics says about bunting but when you have a Mendoza at the plate don't you get to use common sense sometimes?
not when you go by analytics and the analytics say not to do it...

They either honored it or sent a store credit. They lost their ass on it.
