Is it possible to call up a player not on the 40 man? What's the procedure there?

Surely they won't promote someone new and not on the 40. They have Framber and Ur Keeding to bring up.

I'd rather trade back for White and have him pitch. I have ZERO confidence in any pitcher at Round Rock. None. Worthless, as in without any inherent or even perceived value. Go grab someone from the Hooks like Cristian Javier- he's struck out 18 in his last 9 innings while allowing only 3 hits. Add him to the 40 and give him the ball. They would have to waive someone on the 40 man roster to make room. There are a few candidates. Deen Deetz, Brady Rodgers.

So we could have Whitley and Tucker up by tomorrow?

Put Tucker at first, move Yuli to 3rd, and Bregman to SS for next two weeks. Marisnick full time in center, Springer in right, Reddick to the bench. Gosh, that was easy to figure out.

so another IL stint means Correa will play in less than 100 games this season --- lowest total since his rookie season in 2015 when he played in 99

The 2nd half of the game was really quick. The Tigers loading the bases twice in the 3rd inning caused the game to drag on early.

that's becasue the first 3 innings really did take a long time, the game sped up towards the later innings

Frustrating but at this point I hope his back gets well so he's ready for the playoffs. We need him healthy to win it all.

Any idea what the ramifications are of calling up Tucker now instead of waiting until 9/1? Like is there a service time/arbitration issue? Or do we lose an option? Would be interesting to know all the decision factors.
