Correa is home run or bust these days.
and he's busted the last 2 days with a pair of 0-fers

I don't think anyone is going to argue with you that the bullpen has been bad lately. I have really only ever watched Astros games but I've been watching pretty religiously since the 80s and I don't know that we've ever had a bullpen better than this one. I also can't remember a season where this type of stuff didn't happen periodically.tjholley16 said:Harry Dunne said:
Record trailing after 8 has as much to do with the offense as with the defense.
What we need is our bullpen stats in high leverage situations.
True ... however on this road trip how many games did we have where we trailed after 8, then either tied/took the lead in the 9th and still lost?
That's on the bullpen.
@ Orioles.. lost 8-7 after taking back a 2 run lead in the top of the 9th
@ White Sox: lost 13-9 after tying the game in the top of the 9th
@ A's: lost 7-6 after tying the game in the 8th
I know That last one doesn't fit the stat, but it's an example of a high pressure situation. And those three games are very recent.

At this point I dont know who from our bullpen I'd trust in a tie game in the playoffs

I'm not happy with the Houston Astros right now
Lidge ended up being pretty damn good but he had a 3.60 ERA that year.Weekend Commuter said:
2003 was pretty solid set of bullpen arms. Lidge 7th Dotel 8th Wagner 9th

And a bunch here don't think home field is that important in the playoffs. Our hitting difference and winning difference would indicate home field is paramount.

yes, the best record ship has just about sailed off the horizon.
the Yankees started the season 8-10. Since then NYY is 75-32.
they had a 3-8 stretch in June, but other than that no bad stretches since May 1st.
the Astros won't be able to catch them unless the Yankees play a bad 2 weeks of baseball
I don't know if this is satire or not, so A+ post.CFTXAG10 said:
A little Texans preseason should cheer us all up
I'm pretty sure the Astros were swept in a four game series in Oakland that month.Quote:
