Agreed, but my question was which is the bigger culprit. I go with pitching but then watch our batters and think it's the offense. I guess the answer is it's fairly equal suckage at this point... and that it really doesn't matter. The team's just collectively bad at the moment.

As I recall, he wasn't that great as a starter. I seem to remember him being pretty good out of the pen.

Edit.. replied to the wrong post. This was meant in response to needing another pitcher- which I think all of us agree is becoming a necessity regardless of what we thought two months ago.

Some of us malcontents have punched a hole in that drum since the season started. Miley has been very good as a #3 (so far I have been wrong about him), but I still do not believe that this team is best served with McHugh and Peacock in the rotation. No sense beating a dead horse, though. Until Luhnow makes a move, it is what it is and the offense must find a way to start producing.

I'd like to hear some booing from the home crowd these guys need a kick in the ass

I think the Astros now lead MLB for the month of June in homers surrendered.

That outfield play by Springer / Kemp makes it obvious to me these guys don't have their heads in this. Someone needs to rip these guys behind closed doors. I'd say they should sacrifice a chicken, but Tyler would fry and eat it before they could get set up.

It's never fair to say they don't care, or that they gave up. Those guys care more than we do. That said, something went missing this month. Woof.

Not saying they don't care, just that they aren't focused. Even with a big deficit, losing focus isn't acceptable.

Each season the last few years we've had one month that was just really bad and an outlier

2016 - April (kept us from postseason)
2017 - August
2018 - August
2019 - June

Hopefully this is just that one month outlier
