the team batting avg's of the AL teams is awful. The best hitting team in the AL is hitting .265 which would rank about 6th in the NL.

The Astros are sitting around 4th in the AL in avg....the difference is runs scored, where they rank 12th and are hovering among the worst in all of baseball. The player resumes suggest they'll get going but it can't happen too soon.

I agree, it was at least refreshing to hear the teams reaction. They know they played like crap on this road trip, and have the team that can easily turn it around. And soon.

We should have picked up Nelson Cruz as a legit DH instead of running with that scrub White.

April and May are the best months for baseball because the Aggies and Astros usually aren't both struggling at the same time.

Reminds me of a story AJ Pierzynski told one time about getting thrown out of a game while catching. After the ump missed multiple pitches, he turned to the ump and asked for another ball, "preferably one he could see". He got promptly tossed.

So was Cole. He stated it wasn't so much the strike zone that he took issue with and he wouldn't discuss it further.

Apparently at one point during the start of an inning Kulpa was late getting out on the field and cut Cole's warm-up short. That coupled with him basically standing over the plate while he warmed up another inning is probably what pissed Cole off.

Hinch was restrained but a little more passive-aggressive. He stated it could've been handled differently but that wasn't up to him. Kulpa was man in charge and he handled it how he wanted to handle it. He'll defer it to the league and move on. Said that regardless team has to play better.

Yup. Hard to put up runs with your first 4 in the lineup are struggling so bad. We know that part twill turn around, just hope it's much sooner than later.

Maybe something like last night with Culpa, along with off day today and home opener tomorrow, will ignite this offense.
