Isn't Beer just Yordan v2.0?

He doesn't have a defensive position does he?

If that's the case then I can live with parting with him because Yordan is the DH of the future.

In order of preference I'd go with Thor, Bauer, Seth Lugo, Stroman. And I'm exactly sold on the first three really being available.

I think Beer is a more legit option at 1B. But ideally Yordan can pick up 1B duties in the off season anyway

My point exactly. If we make a trade for a pitcher I want a front end one. Not a #3 type.

Miley: 3.28
Stroman: 3.18

FIP
Miley: 4.33
Stroman: 3.81

xFIP
Miley: 4.33
Stroman: 4.16

wOBA
Miley: .329
Stroman: .309

xwOBA
Miley: .327
Stroman: .314



It's close, but I would give Stroman an edge. It looks like Stroman is more likely to keep it up and has been career #s.

Plus Stroman is fun to watch and easy to root for.

I love to watch Stroman pitch.

He has that JV, Cole IDGAF attitude that I love. Has a nice swagger to him. And as far as pitching style DK didn't fit the mold and they turned him into a Cy Young winner.

Higher spin rates and higher velocity means more ability for Strom to work some wonders. The low K rate mixed with these spin rates and velocity means his numbers have the real ability to get better.

The lower hard hit percentage.

I looked up the glossary defs for FIP/xFIP and I still don't really understand them, ha. The explanation made it sound like it's usually lower than ERA, but neither Miley or Strom an reflect that. Maybe they've been luckier than expected?

FIP just removes the defense only uses K, BB, HBP, & HR. When there is a significant difference then you know some good luck or bad luck is in play.

Earlier this season Cole's ERA was higher than normal but his FIP & xFIP we're still pretty solid. It was only a matter of time before things go on track for him. There are always exceptions, but over enough time they usually get fairly close.

Stealing 1st??

Atlantic League is to experiment with players stealing first. It sounds strange, but when you think about it, it just might work. Of course, purists are going to freak. Honestly, I think it's a pretty cool idea.
