Aggressive baserunning isn't paying off this year.

what was the scouting report on the Indians' catcher?

2 caught stealings in a 1-run game. Not good

That really sucks. Don't k so why Altuve was looking back. Guess it was hit and run.

Not being reviewable is dumb. You should be able to review any and all objective calls.
I agree, but shouldn't all calls be objective?

Everything but balls and strikes. Add balks and everything else should be.

Bauer is a corksoaker, but he's a hell of a pitcher.

Seems like a lot of times their put into motion to stay out of the double plays which has been beneficial quite a few times.

Agree. Stupid that not everything is reviewable. IF they can review HBP, they should be able to review if a ball is fouled off the body or not.

That wasn't even a good throw. Kipnis caught it on the 3B side and drug it all the way across. It was a lousy slide and Kipnis blocked the bag off completely with his knee.

At least we are b1tch1ng about something other than double plays.

That's my thought as well. Seems like Altuve was looking back thinking hit and run possibly.

Did Bregman swing or did he miss the sign?
Beat40

Bregman did not swing. The ball was way high.

I don't know why Altuve would look back to the catcher if he's trying to steal.

Feels like Correa falls behind 0-2 more than any hitter in the bigs

One of the most frustrating games I've seen, we pelted the ball right at someone the entire night, oh well. We will still take the series

Too bad Yuli's liner didn't get through, 100% chance White was gonna walk it off.

Only had 24 outs to work with tonight. Hit it hard all night. Indians couldn't have been luckier.

Was pleased with how Cole pitched though, was great to see him bounce back.

Just bounce back tomorrow and win the series. All that matters.

Pretty incredible arm action Bukauskas gets
Has to be about the shortest arm motion I've ever seen on that first pitch

He has gone 0-2 in 11 of 90 plate appearances this year so far. He is batting .273 (3 for 11) in 0-2 counts. No idea how that compares to the league though.

Additionally, to this point the Astros have seen an 0-2 count the third fewest times with 69 PAs compared to the highest of 118 PAs by the Phillies. We also have the highest BA on 0-2 counts at .275, while the second highest BA in 0-2 counts is the Cardinals at .232.

Hot take alert:

I'm a Bauer fan now. He was right about what he said last year regarding inconsistent enforcement of pitchers using foreign substances, but he was wrong to single out the Astros (which he later admitted). I don't think his Twitter banter with Bregman is intended to be serious. And after getting to know Cole over the past year, it makes sense why they clashed at UCLA. Their personalities couldn't be more different.

Bauer got lucky last night, no doubt. But he's a damn good pitcher and I respect his competitiveness. Not many starters want a piece of Springer, Altuve, Bregman in the 8th inning after throwing 100 pitches, then have the stuff to be able to put them down (with a little help from Altuve getting caught stealing). I also like that he challenged Bregman with the same pitch that Bregman took him deep on in the playoffs (curve ball that spins back toward the inside corner).

If the Indians go back into sell mode on either of their aces, I'd love to add Bauer.
