Their SP is great and they're not a poor hitting squad. Too many thought the sky was falling when Harper left.mathguy86 said:My reasoning was their SP is strong and Jansen is a head case.Farmer1906 said:Because they didn't win the division.mathguy86 said:Why change now? Nationals offered 3B Anthony Rendon deal worth $210 million to $215 million. This is the type of deal we delayed when Bregman agreed to an extra 2 years.
Who knows, but he's going to hit the market anyway.titanmaster_race said:Farmer1906 said:

Why do this now? Seems like a distraction for Rendon. Wait until their season ends.
The offer was made in early September according to the ESPN article. Must have just now leakedtitanmaster_race said:Farmer1906 said:

I'm going to be incredibly nervous if Miley gets any sort ofhigh leveragesituation.
Don't worry it ain't happening.bearkatag15 said:

Stacking their lineups? With what, the '27 Yankees??? The entire damn batting order rode him like a hobby horse for a month straight. Stacking a lineup... come on.Harry Dunne said:
AJ just on 790 in with Matt Thomas. MT asked him if it was a possibility to bring Miley out of the bullpen given his troubles in the first inning lately. AJ answered that teams have been stacking the top of their lineup against Miley ( gave Oakland as a specific example) and that he feels confident that if he put Miley in the right position in relief against the right batters he would succeed. AJ is obviously a smart guy & worded it well I'm not sure that I buy it.
But it did sound to me like Miley is making the postseason roster either way and the way AJ was talking it sure sounded like he plans to use him in relief.

No idea if this is credible but would be crazy if MLB changed things now.
If true maybe JV doesn't give up his standard solo Jack per outing.

I'm thinking I'd take this trade off, although the Rays might benefit most of all the playoff teams.
We were first in all of baseball in batting average and OBP...you've really got to start looking up statistics before you post.AggiEE said:Marvin said:Big Al 1992 said:bearkatag15 said:

Astros have an offense that is highly reliant on HRs, especially with guys like Altuve hitting 30 this year.
Hopefully in the playoffs we rely more on timely hitting

Which means we are due in the playoffs.AggiEE said:
We are still highly reliant on HRs because we were terrible with runners on third and less than two outs. Just look at the past two weeks.
Yeah, we got a lot of traffic, but how about the stats on RISP recently?
