I would think if Correa has a big year than there is still room for him.

but there will be a bunch of money freed up after the 2020 season --- that will help.
Reddick's and Yuli's contracts will be up ~ $20 MM

If Cole has a year this year like he did last you lock him down and pay the dude. You then let Correa walk. Maybe JV will take a reasonable short term deal, if not you roll with Cole and FW as you #1 and #2.
To me it's gunna be essential you re-sign either Cole to a long term deal or JV to a shorter deal when this season is over

I think it's imperative to lock up Cole simply from a standpoint of bodies. After this season our 1-4 starters will be FAs.
That's scary

I think we need to keep at least one of the two, being Verlander or Cole.

Pitching staff kinda feels like 1999 when we had long term uncertainty around Hampton, Lima and Reynolds but had Elarton, Oswalt, Miller, Redding and Hernandez in the queue.
Xavier was the reliever from the early 90sBigPuma said:wasn't it Xavier that was the lefty phenom that tore his shoulder to hell sliding into second?astros4545 said:
