Ha. Boras client that will likely hit free agency looking for that big payday. It won't be impossible to sign him, but my guess is he's going to bet on himself having another great year and driving up his value.

With the young arms in the system, I think we're less likely to give a pitcher a huge deal, but we'll see. If Verlander has another stellar year, I wouldn't mind signing him for two or three more.

It's a 5 year $100M deal staring in 2020. He is on his cheap contract in 2019.

Berman's Tweet said it includes this season, three arb years, and first two as a free agent. Pretty good deal for the Astros, but pretty good for Bregman, too, locking in $100M guaranteed after just two seasons in the big leagues.

Just my opinion but I think our front office decided last year or possibly even before they were going to lock up altuve and Bregman with the full assumption that they will let Correa walk. He's going to want machado Esk money

Again just my 2 cents but I think Correa thinks he's going to command a lot bigger contract than Houston is going to offer and we've essentially been future planning our roster without him in it

Exactly. Correa hasn't done much to warrant a big contract from the Astros, or any team hypothetically speaking if he was a free game.

He has the tools and everything you want in a player, but how about he produce for an extended amount of time consistently before we offer him anything.

so Altuve's and Bregman's contracts end at the same time (after the 2024 season).

both will be on the books for a combined $49 MM starting in 2020.

only room for 1 more big contract I'd say
