It looks like odor is improving, I still like Profar a lot better tho.
Genuinely curious as to what you base this opinion on? Odor has a much higher ceiling and has better career numbers all the way around. Not to mention Odor's defense has improved while profar's has regressed.
Profar has a better approach at the plate, Better batting average, draws more walks, works the count better, if he played one position everyday his defense would be good. His baseball IQ is much higher.
The only advantage I give Odor is power ( historically......not this year)
That is just more schtick.
Career Minor Leagues:Odor: .284 BA, .342 OBP, 34 HRs in 364 GP
Profar: .279 BA, .367 OBP, 47 HRs in 482 GP
Odor played:A Short at 17 (58 GP): .262, 2 HR
A at 18 (109 GP): .259, 10 HR
A+ at 19 (100 GP): .305, 5 HR
AA at 19 (30 GP): .306, 6 HR
MLB at 20 (114 GP): .259, 9 HR
Profar played:A Short at 17 (63 GP): .250, 4 HR
A at 18 (115 GP): .286, 12 HR
AA at 19 (30 GP): .281, 14 HR
MLB at 20 (85 GP): .234, 6 HR
You really have no idea what you are talking about. They are about 3 weeks away from being exactly 1 year difference in age (Profar is older).
They played at about the same number of games at the same level at the same ages.
What you find is...
Odor actually has a better average almost every year and for their minor-league career.
Profar actually has more power at almost every stop.
And yet... YOU want us to believe that Profar hits better for average while Odor has more power.
Up until 2018, there was almost no Rangers fan on this forum who would have taken Profar over Odor. In fact, the general mindset was to get whatever we could out of Profar even if we dumped him pennies-on-the-dollar.
The general scouting reports between Odor and Profar was that they were very much the same player, except Profar had more flare and brought more flash, while Odor seemed more hard-nose/gritty type approach.
I wish you'd go back to your Astros thread and leave us alone.
