We have someone on the Rangers thread basically doing the same thing
And rosebushes...we definitely got the rosebushes.Recreational Nuke said:
at least we'll have prospects......and liriano.
Is that you, Drayton?979ag said:Win. Now.iBrad said:The goal is for those guys to become the core players. You are always going to lose guys to free agency, so you have to have the next wave ready to take over.979ag said:
I'm as die-hard of a stros fan as you can get. But to only make one mediocre move on the deadline sucks. There is no reason to hold on to Tucker or Whitley if all of your core players are gone when they get called up

Okay, I'll calm down. But my question for y'all is, how are you content with how today went? Please explain
Don't get me wrong, I wish we made more moves. But I'm not willing to over pay. If some of these guys were traded, and we sat pat because we wanted to hoard prospects, I would've been pissed. But clearly all these teams thought the asking price was way too much
get your well thought out take out of here!bobinator said:
Wild hot take alert here, but I'm actually fine with it because if Dallas and Lance are on form then we have a shot at the world series, and if they aren't, I don't think we're going to win it anyway.
I don't think we needed to give up any big pieces when really, for me, this year comes down to whether we're healthy going into the playoffs or not. And if we're not, then we're not winning anyway so why give up pieces for the future.

And if we do get healthy we're at a disadvantage in the bullpen & potentially game 3/4 starters.bobinator said:

you're fine with your only left handed relievers being Sipp/Liriano/Guduan? Garbage/maybe better smelling garbage/garbage?Quote:

I guess not going to get Brit or Wilson hurts the most. One power lefty who has proven themselves as a recent power lefty would have completed the team IMO. Give up one top prospect for him, call it good. Just don't like being this stingy when you have such a good shot at winning it all, while everyone else is getting betterNotGibbs said:979ag said:

I feel like we are still the best team in the league when fully healthy. Just my opinion -- or what I choose to believe.rvk246 said:
Some of y'all need to relax. We're the second best team in the league, in the easy league and are hampered by injuries rn. Keuchel is still a good pitcher, and once Correa comes back we'll be in good shape.
