While he's a righty, Devo is about as effective as it gets versus lefties. And, you can leave him in the game to face righties, too.

It'll be interesting to see how Liriano transitions to the pen. Can't really even gauge that deal yet.

Overpaying?

Yeah, you kinda have to pay to patch up glaring holes in July if you're a WS contender.

Projects zero confidence for this year. Better for the "window", I guess if you're building the super team next season. But FML this is a dick punch of a deadline.

Very disappointed we didn't end up with Sonny, Wilson/Britton or at least someone respectable.

That said, I'll give Lunhow the benefit of the doubt that the price was too steep. Have to respect his discipline but hard to say the team got any better.

I should have let my pissed off self breathe for a second lol. But big picture, if they don't win it this year, agents are going to use stuff like this against the franchise saying they never did enough for their guy to win a World Series.

I pray to God they win the WS every night though.

Don't get me wrong, I wish we made more moves. But I'm not willing to over pay. If some of these guys were traded, and we sat pat because we wanted to hoard prospects, I would've been pissed. But clearly all these teams thought the asking price was way too much


We didn't get outbid anymore than teams weren't willing to deal their usable pieces

No one else got Darvish, Hand, or Britton
