Took game 1 of double header today from Phils. Currently leading game 2. Benthancourt called up and is starting.

Braves took game 2 of DH. Currently tied with Nats for NL East.

Braves complete 4 game sweep of Phillies.

In other news, former Braves 2nd round pick Nick Ahmed was called up by the Dbacks. He was one piece of the Upton trade.

I don't know if it got mentioned, but last week one of the Braves farm teams threw back to back no hitters. Both games used 2 pitchers to complete it.

Braves had their 9 game winning streak snapped yesterday. It's great to see the team's offense produce without relying on the HR ball like they did. Time to start a new streak against the Mets tonight. Oh and Kimbrel, Freeman and Teheran were selected to the ASG and Justin Upton is in the final vote. Go vote for him! #VoteJUp

Braves have now dropped 4 straight.

Won 2 out of 3 from the Cubs to head into the All-Star break tied with the Nationals atop the division. Chris Johnson killed it in the Cubs series which is good to see. However, Minor struggled again as did Luis Avilan. It's pretty apparent what our major need is at the trading deadline, a left-handed reliever. I've heard we really covet Andrew Miller from the Red Sox.

Braves FINALLY release Uggla

Uggla made his debut for the Giants last night and promptly went 0-3 with 2 K's and an E.

Braves continue to play poorly. Still only a game and a half back of the Nationals.

In Uggla news, he had two more errors and two more strikeouts today. Giants fans will be calling for Brandon Hicks back soon.

Disappointed...again...with Maddox situation, not wearing a Braves cap into the Hall. I understand feelings for team that brought him up, but anyone with baseball knowledge will forever define him as the ace of one of the best-ever rotations in baseball.

He even acknowledged that he moved from Chicago because he wanted to start a family, then said "Sorry, Chicago." Later in speech, he noted that he returned to Cubs in hopes of retiring where he started....then they traded him. Why he gives props to them over/ equal to the Braves I'll never understand.

Braves acquire LHP James Russell and INF/OF Emilio Bonifacio at the deadline. Sent the Cubs Victor Caratini in exchange.

Not a big deal really, also didn't give up too much either.

The losing streak is finally over! Almost blew a 7-0 lead, but a win is a win and at this point we have no room to complain about a victory. All it took was Stephen Strasburg and the first place Nats to get us back in the win column. Just read a stat that we are now 21-9 in our last 30 games against Washington. Let's keep it up and make it 2 in a row tomorrow!

No hit by the Phillies yesterday. Offense is really struggling.

Terdo, Constanza, Jaime, Shreve, and Bethancourt are the September call ups. Kind of surprised we didn't go ahead and pull up a few more.

1 run in the past 4 games.

Somehow only 1.5 out of the second play in game spot. Way out in the division. Hope we can turn it around.

Seems like so many changes need to be made to this team. So maddening that they are feast or famine.

Mets put them out of their misery today. Lots of much needed changes coming. Wren is probably gone. Fredi might be too. There are some bad contacts weighing down the payroll for a couple of years (BJ, Uggla, Johnson), so I'm not sure what they do to fix it. But the last half of the season has been painful and the flaws have been clearly exposed.

Well I think we have all seen the moves thus far. Will be interesting to see what further moves they make. If they go into full-rebuilding mode I would hope that we would try to get value for a guy like Kimbrel.

They have signed Nick Markakis to a 4-yr deal (Neighborhood of $44-45 million)
