Guess its times for a new thread. Big news yesterday was the extension for Simmons.

Beat me to it again this year. There is a lot of big news from Braves camp the last month or so:

McCann gone to the Yanks
Hudon gone to San Fran
Arbitration deals done with Simmons (7 yrs/$58mil), Freeman (8yrs/$135mil), Heyward (2yrs/$13.3mil) and Kimbrel (4yrs/$42mil).
Teheran signed a 6 year deal with unspecified dollar terms.
Wren and Fredi get new deals.
Braves also sign one year deals with Medlen, Chris Johnson, Schafer, and Minor.

Also plans for a new ballpark in 2017.

Braves signed Ervin Santana. Pretty good addition this late with Beachy, Medlen and Minor possibly starting the season on the DL.

Medlen may be done for the year. On twitter they are saying Tommy John is likely.

Also picked up Zach Stewart.

Garcia and Hale may both be in the rotation at the start of the year.

Now Beachy may be done for the year. May need 2nd TJ surgery.

I freakin hate that McCann is a Yank now.

Garcia cut, Harang signed.

Opening day!

Braves shut out in opener 2-0.

Braves win today behind a strong start from Wood and a couple of HR's from Freeman.

BJ Upton 0-4 with 2K's.

Braves win 1-0 today. Harang with a solid start. Johnson hit the HR.

Maybe I should jump the Astros ship for this one... at least I know I can watch the Braves on TV.

Braves win another pitching duel today, 2-1 at Washington.

BJ Upton has to be benched. At the very least, drop him from the 2 hole. He was awful last year, and through 4 games so far, he's 1 for 16 with 9 strikeouts.

And now he has infected his brother.

Even Uggla is hitting at the Mendoza line.

Way too early to put to much into it, but offense has been hard to come by so far.

Braves win 2nd game @ Nats

Braves dropped the third game 2-1. Pitching continues to be outstanding.

Now reliever Gearrin done for the season. TJ for him too.

Braves fall to Mets 4-0 in home opener. Santana to be added to roster tomorrow and start game 2.

Braves set the flag on fire during the opening game.

Braves beat Mets 4-3 after 8 shutout innings for Santana. Heyward with a HR. Bullpen let things get interesting in the 9th.

Braves win the Saturday contest behind a good showing for the Upton brothers. Kimbrel with the save.

Broke out the brooms today

...and the sticks. Freeman is feeling it. I think he'll make a run at the mvp this year. Justin Upton is on fire too. And the Harang and Santana signings are liking real nice so far.

Always good to beat the Nats.

Man this game is draining. Up 5-1 in the 8th after back to back to back homers by Gattis, Uggla, and Simmons. Then we give up a 5 spot. Down 6-5 to start the 9th. Uggla hits a grand slam. Currently up 9-6 with 1 out in the top of the 9th.

Got to see bits and pieces. I stood up and walked across the bar I was at just in time to see Gattis strikeout but then Uggla hit the GS.

Braves beat Phillies 1-0 behind a three hit shutout by Teheran. Gattis with a HR.

pretty good game going on at Citi Field

Combined no hitter broken up in the 8th.

Combined 1 hitter for Braves pitchers. Braves win 6-0.

How good has Aaron Harang been? I remember being a little bit upset when they got rid of Freddy Garcia to sign Harang back in Spring Training, but once again the Braves front office knew what they were doing. Somehow this dude is leading the league in ERA at 0.70. I know it's still very early but I've been more than impressed considering how bad a pitcher he had been the last few years. Go Braves!
