Just catching up on this trade but, like most others here, I agree this was as good as the Rockets could hope for under the current circumstances. Getting this many draft picks was the best way to go, but drafting in the NBA is such a crapshoot.
The last draft pick the Rockets have made that contributed anything is Clint Capela from 2014. I watched those years where we had multiple draft picks (around 2012) and was sold on all of them and none have ever done anything. The best one was probably Chandler Parsons in the 2nd round until he left after 3 years. The Rockets success over the years was due to Morey being good at trades (and some FAs) but his drafts were not that good.
Again, this was the best option Stone had but he has to make the right picks in the coming years and that's not easy in the NBA.
