If Kawhi goes to Lakers and LeBron, Kawhi, and Anthony Davis are all healthy during the entirety of the playoffs next Spring...then who cares whom the other players are on their team...they gotta be the favorite to win the title.

Kawhi and Anthony Davis are first team All NBA defensive level players. LeBron defensive play has slipped a lot now entering his mid-thirties, but he could a lot more easily get away with resting on defense with Kawhi and Davis pulling the load on that end. LeBron is still absolutely an elite offensive player.

So in a playoff series, you just put Kawhi on the best offensive perimeter player of the opponent, let Anthony Davis handle rim protection, LeBron hides on somebody easy to guard, and then on offense let them take turns destroying the opponent's matchups.

If this happens, I hope they at least keep Alex Caruso and he actually plays a notable role for them. Has a former A&M hoops player ever won an NBA title? I can totally get down with a story of Caruso winning an NBA title with LeBron, AD, and Kawhi. That would be an insane storybook ending for a guy whom a lot of TexAgs posters when he graduated opined had 0% chance to ever sniff an NBA court.

Even Brett Favre thinks Kawhi's decision is stretching out too long and getting too much ESPN attention.

I'm just hoping that the longer it goes on, the more it hurts the Lakers.

I'm against the idea of Kawhi to the Lakers...but this would definitely be a silver lining for me.

Would definitely be awesome to see Caruso balling with Kawhi, LeBron, and AD in the NBA Playoffs. And Alex is an Aggie through and through often repping A&M. You couldn't ask for more media exposure for a guy like Alex than that scenario. Former A&M player hype Bonus in that scenario - Lakers would be playing Bucks with Khris Middleton in the Finals.

The ripple effect if Kawhi doesn't make his decision before noon Eastern time tomorrow, per ESPN. The following would be on hold:

Lakers are obligated to complete the AD trade tomorrow.

Lakers lose their cap space when that trade happens, so Kawhi has to make his decision soon if he wants to go to LA.

Incoming salaries are higher than outgoing, which cuts into that max space.
