Rockets aren't a great franchise historically. Not. Even. Close.Guitarsoup said:
In their 50-year franchise history, the Rockets have finished with over 55 wins three times.
The Rockets have never won 60 games in 50 years.
The Rockets have won their division once in the past 20 years.
Spurs have 17 seasons with over 55 wins (and were on track in both lockout seasons to win over 55).
Spurs have 9 seasons with a winning percentage over 73% with in the last 20 years. Rockets have never won 73% of their games.
4 finals appearances...81, 86, 94, 95.aggie7911 said:

It really woulda helped your cause if you hadn't typed "comepteting"... Commendable effort, though.aggie7911 said:
lol you have a skewed view of the word comepteting amigo
Pretty specific stats. I would think Spurs fan would be OK just pulling out the 5-2 championship spread when living in the past. All that matters is it's a 2-2 series right now, but I get it if you feel the need to be proactive when preparing for a series loss.Guitarsoup said:

Do you have ownership in the Spurs? Or did you play on any of the teams?Guitarsoup said:

73% = the cutoff for 60 wins in an 82 game season.primomosquito said:Pretty specific stats.Guitarsoup said:

55 wins: Only teams that didn't win 55+ and still won the title since the modern NBA (added 3pt line, Bird/Magic join the league) are:
06 Heat - starting lineup missed 68 games to injury, won 52
04 Pistons - made big trade for Sheed and went 20-4 to close out the season at 54 wins
95 Rockets - 47 wins. Lowest win total by a champion. Had lots of injuries and the Clyde trade during the season
Bottom line, if you aren't winning over 55 games, you probably aren't a legitimate challenger for the title except for some unique circumstances like a blockbuster mid-season trade or major injuries during the season.
Teams with 60+ wins are even more likely to win it all and it is a mark that a team doesn't reach every single year.
I would add that Golden State is quite likely going to mop the floor with whomever comes out of this series.azulAg said:
lets be honest both teams and fan bases should just keep quiet, because as of last night this series can go either way easily

And DAntoni has never beaten Pop in the playoffs.
And even if they don't, there'll be a rested Cavs team waiting for the winnerAdam87inSA said:I would add that Golden State is quite likely going to mop the floor with whomever comes out of this series.azulAg said:
