He's had major knee problems since at least 2000 when he missed the playoffs for surgery. That's a long time.

All the NBA pundits I listen to are pretty much writing off the Spurs. It's amazingly bad analysis. These are mostly the same guys who said OKC and Cleveland were hopeless last season.

So that means this is the year for seis!

Really, this is going to be a very tough team even without Timmy.

Watching the summer Spurs on ESPN2.

D'Angelo Russell hit a deep game winning three in the game right before. The first words out of his mouth in the ESPN on-court interview: "man I played like S***!" Everything after that was credit to his teammates and talking about what he could have done better early in the game but that was funny.

Bertans and Charles aren't with the team today. Bummer.

Everybody talks about how great Anderson plays in summer league, but every time I watch he looks awful.

He looks bad today.

Murray's got some bad habits to break, but he's got some moves, too.

The spurs won on a buzzer beater. Inbound with 1.3 seconds. It wasn't really a play so much as it was tossing the ball up for Simmons to out jump and out muscle everyone to collect the ball and flip it in.

Murray has a high ceiling. Lightning quick getting off the ground, good body control and ball control around the rim, appears to have a good motor and aggressiveness. For bad habits: On defense, he tends to gamble for steals and chase too high over picks, and he ends up getting caught on the high side boxed out of the play. On offense, he's got a high dribble especially when he starts his move. He was lucky not to get called for travels, and he did get the ball poked away a couple times.

I'm impressed with Murray so far. His length and athleticism is even better than I thought. He makes plays on defense and rebounds very well from PG position. We all know that is how you have to prove yourself as a rookie under Pop.... Defense first.

Offensively, almost no one looks good in summer league. These teams are thrown together in a week. The Spurs have been using Kyle as a primary playmaker and he's had his ups and downs.

haven't had time to track too much of the Spurs offseason. Saw Boban and Diaw gone.

Defensively, he's not for sure. Offensively he's pretty versatile.

Offensively they'll probably keep trying the point forward thing. Defensively, they keep trying to bulk him up enough to defend fours.

He was the best player of his generation. 5 time champion. Multiple MVPs. Just a dominant player who will be missed in the league.

Really is going to be a weird season without the Big Fundamental in there ballin out...

It's going to be tough not seeing him on the court, but enjoy retirement Timmy!
