No idea who that is, but he's young. I trust this FO blindly.

When do y'all think we get the news of Lebron to the Spurs for the minimum?
quote:You'd think they could have done better than a 2nd round pick. I mean a 2nd round pick from SA is basically useless as we're always near the bottom of the order (unless we acquired a pick from someone else along the way)
The Sac fans (no really) on r/nba speak very highly of him...kinda didnt wanna give him up but they have a lot of guards now. Say he's got good vertical leap.

Has Aldridge and West officially signed? Thanks to DJ, I'm now paranoid.

No word yet. I would assume it gets done some time this morning though. Multiple people spotted Aldridge in SA yesterday.
quote:Absolutely no idea. Been pretty mum on that front. There's not much out there in terms of established NBA players. Spurs could elect to go the Euro route like they did with Baynes here.
Where are we looking at C? I have no clue about most NBA big men.
quote:This is what non-Sacto/SA fans on r/nba were saying...basically "wtf, Vivek? Anyone in the league would have given you a 2nd for him, maybe more? Stupid Sexy Spurs."quote:

Can McCallum play defense? I know nothing about his game other than what I've read on this thread.

Also, the exact details of the Splitter to Atlanta trade have not been released yet. I know it was leaked a few days ago that all the Spurs were getting back was a combination of picks/prospects of some sort but this could change with the Cap # being higher then expected.
I would really like to get Bazemore back in return from Atlanta but I'm not entirely sure the Spurs can absorb any money back from ATL in that deal. I really like his game though and the Spurs have shown interest in Bazemore in prior years.
Reason I believe Atlanta would be open to trading Bazemore is because they just signed Justin Holiday and traded for Tim Hardaway, Jr.
quote:I doubt we're expecting him to be an improvement over Joseph, at least not as early as next season, but if he can be a reasonable fascimile thereof, then it's a good fit and a great pickup for the price.
Like others I was not familiar with McCallum but it looks like he is a good one. Over the last two months of the season when they were using him more he averaged almost 12 ppg and 4.5 asst. The only thing that concerns me is his FT %. But other than that it looks to me like another improvement over last year.
quote:Still curious about the last big, really need a large bodied C to eat some minutes at the 5 in the regular season.
But his impact and playing style fitting with what the Spurs ask their big men to do offensively may have gone underappreciated. West is one of the best passing big men in the NBA, and surrounding that ability with what the Spurs are capable of as shooters is almost an unfair marriage.
quote:GREEK LIGHTNING!!!! Dude is like 30 years old. And was an original Spurs draft pick. I love these types of trades. He'll never play a minute in the NBA.
First domino has fallen:
Spurs have officially traded Splitter to Atlanta for a 2017 second rounder pick and the rights to Georgis Printezis.
quote:Haha exactly. Wish we could have gotten Bazemore but at the time of the agreed upon trade the Spurs were just looking to unload cap.quote:GREEK LIGHTNING!!!! Dude is like 30 years old. And was an original Spurs draft pick. I love these types of trades. He'll never play a minute in the NBA.
