Let's take a moment to appreciate Cory Joseph's shining moment as a Spur.

I'm a tad concerned about our bench, but I wouldn't have wanted the Spurs to pay as much as what some of our bench guys got paid.

What did Marco get? He was a great regular season asset.

It's interesting to see spurs bench players getting PAID. No organization is better at player development. To me, this is a great opportunity to see what RC and Pop can cultivate now with so many open spots. Training camp is going to be an open tryout this year.

I'm more anxious than nervous for our bench.

Mo Williams would be a nice PG addition. Or Andre Miller. I think it would be smart for the Spurs to grab a veteran PG in some capacity. Will allow Mills to slide over to the off guard spot during stretches where he tends to flourish and with Manu continuing to get older it makes sense.

If Manu comes back the need for a veteran backup PG is minimized. Also, I'll bet they see Anderson as a part time option at PG as well. He can can handle the ball and allow Patty to play off the ball. Meanwhile, Patty can guard the apposing PG.

I'm still not convinced that Manu plays 75 games+playoffs. If we can get Andre Miller or someone like that for the vet min, you do it in a heart beat.

I agree with this. Plus you want someone to help chew up minutes during the regular season. Manu isn't going to be that guy. Hopefully we see Manu in a very limited 15 minutes or something to save him for when we need some playoff heroics - a key 3 pointer or an energizing dunk a la:

FYI for all the basketball junkies, the Spurs play their first SL game tonight vs Philadelphia on NBAtv at 6:00PM CT.

Excited to watch Anderson run the team and see what some of our big prospects look like (LaLanne, Jean-Charles).

Sweet! Was wondering when that started. Thanks! Looking forward to it myself.

Got to go see them in person last Summer in Vegas. Was pretty cool.

I'm good with Manu playing about 12-15 minutes a night in the regular season. I think he could play 75 games if you limit his minutes to about that much most games. You could increase his minutes in the playoffs if needed. Though he's so hit or miss nowadays, Pop should just decide whether to bench him for the night after 2-3 minutes of action.

At the end of the day it would have been impossible for the Spurs to replicate what Manu brings to the table for the second unit with the type of money they have. Him coming back is huge news for the Spurs. Even with Manu aging his game is still so unique and awkward that it will be incredibly hard to replace whenever that time does come. Now the second unit still has 3 guys remaining from last year and Manu's presence alone will make for a lot smoother transition with some of the new guys were going to have to play.

Manu had a solid season last year playing 70 games at 22MPG. That might be too much to ask again but if we could somehow get that again that would be amazing.

Need to land David West and Caron Butler to finish a cream the pants offseason.

The big three finished 1 win shy last year of most wins by a trio in NBA history (behind McHale-Bird-Parrish). Looks like they will get it now.

I think some are overlooking the impact a rested and 10 pounds lighter Tony Parker could have.

Lose Splitter, add LA
Lose Baynes, add David West PLEASE
Lose Marco, add??

With Patty (hopefully) fully healthy this year, I don't think Tony will need to play heavy minutes during the season. If Patty and Tony stay healthy, the Spurs will have plenty of good minutes at PG to win a title.

I'm just so happy.

I refuse to believe that the Big 3 will ever retire.

Outside of depth down low, the biggest need right now is someone who can play the 2/3/smallball4

Its not official, but I'd be shocked if Bonner doesn't come back. He's good minutes eater and Pop loves him. That would make 11.

But work still remains. With four players already under contract (Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, Patty Mills, Kyle Anderson) and four about to be when new deals can be signed on July 9 (Duncan, Green, Leonard, Aldridge), the Spurs still need at least five more bodies to fill out a full roster.

Veteran guard Manu Ginobili, who is pondering whether to play this season, could be one. Matt Bonner, Jeff Ayres and perhaps Cory Joseph are also possibilities to return.

But with limited resources it's still impossible to know how much space the Spurs have left, if any, without knowledge of Duncan's new contract they'll very likely have to dip into the pool of cheap veterans, a number of which they've already been linked to. The biggest needs would appear to be a wing and a true backup center. (While Duncan has essentially been a five for much of his career, having another body to soak up 10-15 minutes of pounding, a la the departed Tiago Splitter, is desirable.)

Granted this is from 2 days ago.
