As a Rockets fan I'm actually very happy for the Spurs. Tim gets to go out with some talent around him unlike Dream which I wish he would have more and not had to go out like he did. Also, I love it when 3 of the better teams in west might be from Texas. Actually makes the regular season more fun to watch.
I'd much rather the Mavs and Rockets be good than the Lakers, Clippers and Blazers.

I'd be totally fine with the Jazz never winning another game.

I agree with this. As insufferable as the Rockets fans make things around here, I would actually prefer the Rockets and Mavs to be good compared to the Lakers, Suns, Jazz, and Clippers.

Frankly, if it weren't for Texags, I would probably kind of like both of the other Texas teams but their ass hole fans on Texags make generally root against them. Still, there is nothing worse than cocky, obnoxious Lakers fans.

Spurs obviously need a Center as well. Kevin Seraphin, Cole Aldridh, Jeff Withey are all solid young options out there. Will need to sign another solid G as well.

Of that group I like Aldrich the best. Bigger body that we can use to bang against bigger guys (Dwight Howard I'm looking at you) and he also rebounds at a pretty good clip per 36. He's going to be our 5th or 6th big off the bench, but I think his profile is closer to Baynes than Withey or Seraphin.

QFT. Without TA I would be more of a fan of Houston.

On point exactly. Theirs plenty of Spurs fan that are insufferable to Rockets fans because they're not fans, they're fanatics. Some act like they play for the damn teams versus just rooted for your hometown. When Dream dominated Robinson and the Spurs and won their second title I would have had no problem rooting for the Spurs because A they're a Texas team and because Robinson was a good dude.

I really like the potential that Seraphin possesses. He's a very skilled player who a still young and I think can develop into a very solid rotational big. There's really no use in signing both him and West though as they are pretty similar players. But in the event that West chooses to go elsewhere, I really hope the Spurs can get their hands on Seraphin as well as another true center like you mentioned.

Spurs summer league starts tomorrow so I am very interested in watching guys like Cady LaLanne and Livio Jean Charles. These guys are truly playing for roster spots.

I mean there's some other pretty dang good talent out there also. Just hard to gauge what the market is going to be with some guys. Players like Gerald Green, Greg Smith, Wayne Ellington, Tyler Hansbrough, Darrel Arthur, Jeff Taylor, Ekpe Udoh, Marcus Thornton, Omri Casspi and Reggie Evans.

If LOVE to add Gerald Green, but I doubt we have the space for it. That athleticism along with his outside shooting would be fantastic off the bench.

As a kid and high level basketball player in the early to mid 90's there was no better guys to root for than the Dream and the Admiral.

4 years $30M. Way out of our price range. Good for Cojo.

That's a bit out of what I feel like he's worth to a regular team.

However, what is he worth to the Spurs?

Good for him. Always liked his passion and intensity.

Holy crap. It seems like so many players come to the Spurs and are barely even on a roster and leave and get paid (and suck compared to when they were on the Spurs...). Our strength with pretty much all these championship teams has been our bench outscoring guys and not having to play guys for 38mpg during the regular season. I like the Aldridge signing, but I'm not sure who we bring in for cheap to fill these holes that can work into a good role player immediately.

I think Patty was always going to be ahead of CoJo. 4/$30 is away more than the Spurs would spend for him, but good for him. Seems like a great dude.

Eh, we didn't really buy him. He could have gotten more money or the same elsewhere. He just picked us because our franchise is so awesome.

Yeah, I'm starting to worry about our bench, that's always been one of our biggest advantages. Lot of holes to fill.

There are alot of unknowns but the Spurs came out with a best case scenario to get LA. Losing Belli hurts bc he played so many dang min in the regular season. The way the league is now I think we just need a big body aka scrub like Baynes and another shooter. Of course I hoping Manu can be even 90% of what he was last year.

I'm a tad concerned about our bench, but I wouldn't have wanted the Spurs to pay as much as what some of our bench guys got paid.

Casspi got 2 years/$6m re-signing with Sacramento.

This was always going to be the cost to obtaining Aldridge.

To be honest, even without Aldridge the Spurs would have not paid both Joseph and Belinelli that type of money and they sure as hell wouldn't have paid Baynes that contract so there would still be some guys leaving and no Aldridge.

The money is extremely tight as is right now but they have a very solid 8 man rotation assuming Manu is back. Anderson will be important and his development during the Summer League will be very interesting to watch. Duncan is having to take a major pay cut to even make this possible. His contract will end up being in the $4M range depending on the final cap number.

Once the cap shoots up ~90M in 2016 the Spurs will be able to then again fill the holes with some talent but this year they are going to have to get creative in the type of veterans they bring along.

Plus, don't forget about the buyout deadline come mid-season. The Spurs are usually players during this time (Diaw) and I have a feeling they will be an attractive destination for some pretty good talent that is usually waived at this point.

Spurs paid Baynes + Belinelli + Joseph ~4.9m total last season. Those three will make ~20.5m next year.

Luis Scola is also out there. Wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs brought him in. His decline physically is undeniable but he's a crafty vet and a smart player who can pick up the sets quickly and obviously has some experience playing with Manu so I could see this happening.

edit--now that I think of it, West probably depends a lot on what happens with Thompson
