Is that a real story? If so, that is awesome.
100% true. Was told directly from one of the Spurs minority owners before the first championship.

How amazing would it be to see us get a championship with Duncan in the front office/on the bench?

Sad. If Spurs had won, we'd have had a nice easy series to prepare for the winner of Memphis/GS.

Do we think Houston plays this pathetically against us? They always seem to treat every game against SA like their Super Bowl.
Not disagreeing, just wondering.
quote:He's going to get a lot of money. Not really practical with what the Spurs want to do. I think Danny will get similar money but the Spurs have a lot more flexibility with his contract and having his bird rights etc. I like DeMarre though.
DeMarre Carroll is a free agent. Apparently he has been tearing it up in the playoffs, so he's probably on a lot more radars and getting more expensive by the game, but this is a guy I wouldn't mind taking a run at if his price is reasonable and the big free agents aren't in play for the Spurs. 12-5-2 jack of all trades forward with good defense at the 2 and 3, immense effort, and 40% from beyond the arc this year. He's got experience in a Spurs-y system. Another one of these guys you can plug into a variety of lineups who can keep the ball moving and score efficiently on offense while switching everything on defense.
Another long shot. I miss basketball.

Tim has said he wants to continue working in basketball in some capacity after he's done as a player. I could see him going the front office route.
quote:Duncan said in an interview, either at the end of last season or during this season, that he can't imagine himself being away from the game for too long once he retires.
I always thought that it was Pop who tries to tell Duncan he needs to stay in basketball, but Duncan always hints at his other hobbies and possibly leaving the scene entirely.

When does the first "event" of the offseason occur? Such as, teams deciding on player options, offering restricted free agents, etc.
Anyone have a general calendar timeline for these things?
