He has a player option for next season at 1.1 mil.

That really sucks if he ends up having to get the microfracture surgery. Dallas sports teams are just snake bitten when it comes to injuries right now.

It was a valiant attempt boys, but time to retool for next year.

No. That's why he was so good. He was playing for a contract,

Rondo trade: one of the biggest disasters in the history of the NBA. Crowder and Wright looked good towards the end of the season, depth the Mavs badly needed in this series.

Hard to disagree. Dallas offense was just miles better when anybody but Rondo was running the point.

We all knew how this would end when we went down 3-0, but at least we didn't get swept, and won the last home game. No excuses for what transpired during this series- if we shot better this game, we would've won and forced another game.

Now lock up Aminu and wait for next year

It's sad, but two of the best Dallas options this post season, Barea and Aminu, were minimum salary guys. I would be okay with Barea running the point next season. Bring back Aminu, Ellis, Chandler and somehow land Aldridge and the Mavs are back. Dirk as the 6th man is probably better.

Don't know if the cap will allow that though. Ellis may need to be paid more but I don't think Chandler will find another 15 mil per contract. Maybe he takes a discount to stay in Dallas? Can't stay healthy elsewhere so is best bet for a longer career may be Dallas. Aldridge is a max guy. Mavs may need to cut Harris and/or Felton to land him.

You can max out next year, because the year after the cap goes up big time.
