I know the angles sucked but several times he should have been in the shot and wasn't. Just looked weird. Felt like a couple offside calls were missed.

Isn't the suspension just for next game, not the whole leg?

If so I'd bring him in just so I could waste his time and bench him for the 2nd game. Sub him in if we need a spark on offense but otherwise make him be a good citizen and do nothing else.

They go to one game formats after this I think.So to bring him in you're basically giving up a roster spot for the semis to play him in the finals.
But bigger than that, a message has to be sent, that was beyond unacceptable. It was selfish, childish, and put his teammates in a terrible position. And had we not scored that early goal, we might not have survived tonight. The effort from T&T would have been very different late if one goal tied up the aggregate instead of needing three.

I thought I read on this thread some complaints about Turner.

Second goal was soft. He should stop that one. The first goal was just a great shot. I'm not sure what he's supposed to do there.

So talking about the bit of the game that actually happened normally, I noticed Pepi was doing a lot of 1-touch drop off passes to bring in the midfield

Not a great performance at all. I think the outcome would have been different with 11 men. Also Turner had an absolute howler. No 1st team keeper should be letting in that shot.

I'm seeing people online try to roast Gregg for taking out Reyna after the red card. I feel like that was absolutely pre-planned, given Reyna's usage rate and injury history. He played the full 90 in the first game, there was no way he was playing in the 2nd half imo.
There are plenty of legit things to blast Berhalter for.

Yeah, I don't think that's a fair criticism of Greg. He likely was not playing in the second 45 anyway.

The game was rough. The field was rough and we needed to go to a 4 4 1 anyway.

I mean, why keep two strikers in at that point? Pull one of them and Scally then pull Reyna at half.

That's the only criticism there.

And I have no issue managing his minutes especially with a 4 nil advantage.

Just finished watching. Here's my take. Dest was not playing like Dest before his tantrum. He wasn't going forward like he normally does. Jedi was playing more like Dest than Dest. I am guessing this was some sort of tactical decision by Gregg. He wanted to push up the left side so be ordered Dest to stay back. This pisses Dest off, so he is already frustrated. Add on the no call up the line, then the ball out of bounds and the dude snapped. The way he was reacting to his teammates seemed more than just pissed at a bad ref. Just my guess. I am a fan of Dest, but that was dumb.

Ok, didn't watch this one live and just caught Dest's Instagrammable moment...did something else happen because he just went unhinged because a linesman called it the other way?

He was fouled a few minutes before and it didn't get called, that's what had him upset.

That relationship is actually pretty poor. Clubs absolutely hate international breaks and for good reason. Like you said, a lot of injuries tend to happen. FIFA also keep adding more and more games to the calendar via these dumb tournaments.

Gabriel Jesus has been out injured with a hamstring injury for 4 weeks and missed Arsenal's last 6 games. He had just returned to light training at the club. Team physios said he isn't ready. Brazil demanded that Gabriel Jesus fly halfway around the world so their team docs could assess him. The player does this so he stays in good standing with the national team, especially a competitive one like Brazil. He doesn't make the squad for their 1st game, but then Vinicius gets hurt and Brazil have no fit FWs. Now it seems highly likely that Jesus starts tomorrow for them against Argentina. As an exercise physiologist, his chances of aggravating an injury are really high.
