Brazil has drawn to Venezuela and lost to Colombia and Uruguay in their last 3 games
Germany got hammered by Japan two months ago...at home.
France beat Gibraltar 14-0...because sometimes things go exactly as you expect

But the point is, crappy results in international football are pretty common. Even elite teams often fail to live up to expectations against opponents they should beat the crap out of.
