Chelsea has the least offensive tactical system of all the big clubs. A 4-4-2 with 2 holding midfielders and standard left/right midfielders instead of wingers is snoozeville. Really Pulisic doesn't fit any of the roles in that formation.

And any formation that relies in Loftus Creek to start is a crummy formation.

Well, I am no Tuchel supporter, and Chelsea are where attacking players go to die, but he does not regularly play a 4-4-2. This year they have played a 4-4-2 once, and a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 the other matches.

My biggest issue with him is his staying with players who seem to offer little or no real benefit to the attack. Kai Havertz has been flat out awful this season from a statistical view, and he continues to get starts. He has started all 4 games for Chelsea and has 0 goals, 0 assists, 2 shots on goal and 0 chances created. Why is he one of your attacking three? Makes no sense to me.

Mount's stats are equally as poor. Mount is more a midfielder than an attacking wing to me anyway, so he is being played out of position.

Tuchel is a demotivator to me, and I can't see him surviving long in the EPL.

Should have checked more than 1 game. I still stand by Chelsea being tactically lacking with offensive weapons. They start Sterling, Kai & Mount. Then true midfielders Gallagher, Creek, Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante. I will say Cucruella has looked solid in attack as wingback/left back.

His insistence on using Havertz as a 9 is bizarre. Havertz is a 10. He might be tall enough to theoretically be a good 9, but it wasn't his natural position.

Werner has been vocal that his performance at Chelsea was due to TT misusing him.

The irony here is that both are German. They ought to have thrived under him. They should've had great chemistry and understanding, but they haven't and that's quite telling.

It's really TT's own fault. He was allowed Lukaku and Werner to leave this summer. Those were the 2 primary 9's last year. And Werner isn't even a 9. I'm a firm believer that TT makes his own problems and uses every excuse under the sun to shift blame away from himself.

Yep. What's particularly frustrating is that CP did get a couple starts last year as a false 9 and performed admirably. So why not try that again?

I'm encouraged by Sargent and Pefok's club form, but it's been my not so secret (and probably dumb) thought that maybe our 9 solution is using CP as a false 9, in part so that we can get CP, Reyna, Aaronson, and Weah out there at the same time. That could be a heck of a creative attack, without having a real 9.

That would get creativity and speed on the field but would leave a very weak team on set pieces. Adams isn't the biggest so that would just leave 2/3 CBs to win headers.

Yeah no doubt. You can scheme around that a little bit (short corners, low crosses), but that's definitely a downside.

Mckennie the best attacker on set pieces anyways. Hell has anyone else actually scored from one in the last year

Yes he's on the bench. Chelsea loaned out Hudson-Odoi so I doubt pulisic goes anywhere.
