Speacking of Championship league, one of the lads i met from Crewe Alexander was with Bolton and got promoted to the Championship.

MLS is probably a more competitive league top to bottom, but as a whole yes. I'd bet a few of the top MLS teams could compete but they're not dealing with salary caps in England.

The top of Championship would beat all MLS teams most of the time.

But all MLS teams would beat the bottom half of Championship most of the time.

I think it's a good move for MLS guys just because it makes them more visible/obtainable to other European clubs.

If a MLS guys ceiling is higher than the Championship then that's the only reason they should go to that league.

Edit - maybe not, guess there's the chance they could get promoted but if they do and they aren't PL level they're getting axed

Berhalter is better than Aiden Morris (for ex.) and Morris was a locked in starter for a Championship team all season long. Middlebrough almost got promoted this season. I should say he's better in my opinion.

Also, Championship being better than MLS is debatable, but a reason to move to the Championship is that rosters spots and starting spots are more competitive at that level than in MLS. If Berhalter is fighting for his spot every week it helps him get better for sure.
