We've also got Brady who's got a lot of potential but is really young.

I feel like there's better shot stoppers just in MLS than who we started in this tournament.

Apparently when he played with the U20s he was pretty miserable. This comes from the mom of one of the players on that team. So take it with a grain of salt.

I said it before… he's lived his whole life in Germany. He's German. Good for him if he's good enough to play for Germany.

I'm with Donovan… there's an attitude problem that gets introduced to the team when you bring in guys who will spend more combined time on US soil for USMNT camps than they have spent and will spend in the US across the rest of their life. That is - if a guy hasn't ever lived here and doesn't see himself ever wanting to - it's probably not a good fit for the team. But we've taken those guys in the past.

I'll backup and say I enjoy guys like Antonee who are likely in this boat but still work their butt off (and Donovan mentioned Jermaine Jones as an exception from his day) - but for the vast majority of these European guys, it's extremely hard to get motivated to play in some island mudhole while jet-lagged (it's hard enough for American born and bred). Everyone gets up for the World Cup, but I'm not still not sure it's great for squad cohesion or honestly for growing fans domestically when these guys are taking places from guys born and raised here.

I look forward to the day when we're good enough that we don't have to go after the kind of guy who's not good enough to play for their home country so they're willing to hold their nose and dust off their passport and come play for us so they can get the prestige that comes from being an international player.

Watching Cameron Carter-Vickers playing for Celtic right now in the Europa League. Wondering if he'll ever get the call again. He's probably better CB depth than Mark McKenzie and teammates with Trusty, who did get the call up this round.

I could see him getting a call for Gold Cup or Copa America, but he'll be 32 next WC, but he does play a position of need for us.

No surprise here, it's been trending this way for a while. Other than playing with our youth program he had no connection to the US.

This smells like a "who's available that's actually been in camp before?" kind of move, because he's not playing well.

I hope he's really only coming along for emergency depth and to help integrate the new guys.

I guess I had forgotten he had surgery and that was a main reason he missed out on the world cup. I like the mindest of having time for 2-3 more.
