Hype train rolling out. Toot toot.

I've ALWAYS been on his side, but it is hilarious how every thought he sucked when he struggled on a couple of overmatched teams then has success and everyone thinks he's the greatest. It's hilarious.
It is big that hes getting an opportunity to actually play up top, and is looking the part.

Hope JS can keep getting PT up top. It'd be awesome if he could get on a hot streak heading into the WC.

These stats don't even show how good he really was. The fouls were because they couldn't stop him.

That's awesome. It's like the old bacon kit done right.

If we went with the Waldo's as our primary kit, we could vary is a bit cycle to cycle like Argentina does with theirs.

That's the great thing about if we adopted red and white hoops. Thick hoops, skinny hoops, wavy hoops. But all still hoops.

This should be the real one. I would buy this.

Well, I wouldn't cause I am cheap. But I would think about it.

I'm hoping for Sargent, Pefok, and Ferrera at the 9.

Union Berlin. Currently (and likely very temporarily) top of the table in Bundesliga. Gladbach right behind them. So for at least 1 day, we've got USMNT backups who are starting for the top 2 teams in the Bundesliga.

(At least for one day because Bayern play tomorrow)

He wasn't ready yet. But I fully expect him to be the next guy, he's publicly said he wants the job.

What difference would that have made? I doubt Marsch would have done any better than Berhalter has done. He would be hated as a know nothing MLS lackey whos never done anything because he would have been hired while he was still just the coach of the NY Red Bulls. At that time hed never even played or coached outside of North America, unlike Berhalter.

If he's successful at Leeds, I don't see him being the USMNT coach. He's making triple the salary (around $3.5M/year) at Leeds and I have a feeling they aren't going to let him go.

I hope he keeps this going!!

Yeah, I'd love to have him running the USMNT at some point, but it'd be a step backwards for him at this point.

Also, I'm assuming we'll replace Greggg in the next year or so. Things have gone poorly if JM isn't still at Leeds then.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

What this illustrated was what we already knew, just in particularly fresh, stark terms: we, as a footballing nation, have a problem with Americans. We believe them to be interlopers in our game; hopeless imposters to be sneered at, who simply don't have the historical connection or the ingrained footballing culture to ever really belong.
I thought this was an interesting piece using Marsch, his results, and how they are covered in the broader English media as an indicator of the wider sentiment towards Americans in English football. Don't agree with all the points but do agree with a lot of them.

Jesse Marsch is single-handledly destroying every myth about Americans and (our) football

You generally don't go from successful EPL manager to national team manager. He isn't leaving Leeds for the USMNT.

I don't know about the destroying every myth thing, but I do know Marsch damn sure did out coach the great German tactician this weekend. And it was a sight to behold.

I am sure the English (and Euros) look at us much the same way I look at Canadian Football or Japanese Baseball. I think it is awesome that they are taking on our sports, but I don't think of them as real competitors.

I agree mostly, but it's not out of the question either.

It's obviously a different circumstance for a lot of reasons, but Hansi Flick left Bayern to coach Germany, which for many was quite the shocking choice.

It's not impossible to imagine a situation where Marsch gets frustrated with his back office (like Flick was with his) and decides he's done dealing with transfer drama and is ready to be in a situation where he has full control of his player selection (within the confines of nationality).

That said, I agree it's really unlikely.
