It might sound bad at first glance, but 5 points from a win at home + 2 draws on the road, would actually be a good start to qualifying.
Ideally we come out gangbusters and just pick up 3 wins, but that isnt generally how CONCACAF WCQ goes for any nation.
So in the past 3 at home and 1 on the road was the goal. Is that still good enough to qualify?
More than enough
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_%E2%80%93_CONCACAF_Fourth_Round10 games played in the Hex.
USA and Mexico Hondura advance
USA 6 Wins - 2 Draws - 2 Losses
Mexico 6 Wins - 1 Draw - 3 Losses
Honduras 5 Wins - 1 Draw - 4 Losses
2014
10 played
We win 7 and draw once
Costa Rica wins 5 draws 3
Honduras wins 4 and draws 3
Mexico only wins twice and draws 5. They only make it to a playin thanks to a last second goal by Zusi in the last game.
Historically, 6 teams playing 10 games. Get 15-16 points and you qualify. (sometimes less is needed)
This year there are 8 teams playing 14 games. So probably get 21-22 points and you will qualify.
