Reports that United close to agreeing to a deal for Matic. If it's a reasonable price, then I'm OK with it.
Would have preferred Fabinho because of youth and ability to play RB, but Matic is a solid, solid player in his own right. Would approve.
How about you know letting a young guy play instead or Matic he is not worth the transfer fee.
What young guy that is currently on the roster can fill that spot consistently? There are only prospects, and it is too big of a gamble to go into the season with only prospects and Carrick at such a crucial spot on the field.

In this market, I think 30M-40M would probably be decent for him... And that is in line with the rumors.

Just now saw this online too. Disappointing if true. Was hoping for another year or two with Rooney at Manu (even if off bench) but honestly not suprised. He was the player that got me back into soccer in the 2006 World Cup after I quit playing in high school years earlier and is the reason I have always watched Manu. Will always follow and support Manu but...if true...tough to swallow.

Honestly I am much happier getting Lukaku over Morata for the following reasons:
- proven EPL goalscorer
- keeps Lukaku from Chelsea AND weakens Everton
- slightly cheaper than Morata
- **** Real Madrid
So hopefully this deal gets done

I need to go be a reporter in the UK. Absolutely no credibility required for any article. I just saw an article that Morata is surprised by this and now wants to link up with Conte/Chelsea. No way on earth anyone has already spoken to Morata on this and no way he has already decided his next best move. Crazy.
There are also articles saying that United leaked this to pressure Madrid into selling Morata. You can't really trust anything these days until the player is holding the jersey, especially with United it seems.

As far as Morata vs. Lukaku...they are both the same age. Lukaku has more international experience and EPL experience but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the better player. Mourinho loves him a big forward so Lukaku fits that bill. All in all, I'm completely OK with this. I think either could be successful in Manchester so ultimately I just want whomever gets done...and if Real Madrid was trying to include De Gea in the negotiations for Morata then even better to go in another direction.

Bummed he didn't come back home, but I'd rather him go to United over any other top flight club.

Probably the best option at #9 United were realistically in for. This should definitely help with United's goalscoring issue.

I have to assume with all the issues this summer getting signings done...they wanted to get this out there as soon as possible. I am guessing it may take several more days to be really final and they didn't want to go another weekend without announcing something.
